I'm sure he's at least close.

My Jeep doesn't have one. Never thought twice about it.

Matter of fact the few times I've driven a vehicle that has one I've always thought "who needs an ohh shit handle on the drivers' side?"
Granted, years ago when I was young and spry, I felt the same.
But now, with creakey knees and grinding hips, and arthritis, I would welcome a drivers side grab handle.

I'm not exactly either of those either.
I've found that most of my creaks and grinds feel better when exercised.

:fingerscrossed:

This whole argument is so trivial and really stupid. If there were a handle in place, you are under no obligation to use it! Oh, the crash test shows the driver side handle would jeopardize the driver but the passenger's handle is ok----------go figure. The European Rangers have a handle on its driver side, yes on the A Pillar above the steering wheel.

I would buy the first after market handle if the color matched.

Sometimes I use the steering wheel. I don't care for the location.

I usually grab the A-pillar itself (where a grab handle WOULD be if Ford put one there), except for the times that I need a more secure grip.

The reason I do this is because in winter time, it's a very bad idea for me to try stepping into the truck without using my hands, as well. My driveway has a decent slope to it, and it gets icy. Last winter, I ate it hard when trying to step into the truck.

I don't use handholds because the truck is too tall for me. I don't use the running boards because the truck is too tall for me. I use handholds because 3 points of contact means I'm less likely to eat shit.

I use the running board because it's a smaller step up, and smaller steps are better for security on my slippery driveway. That said, ice collects on the step there and can also be pretty treacherous. So good handholds are important, IMO.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
Well, I need it to assist in cleaning the dang windshield!! On the Pass side it is easy to step up while holding the handle, drivers side I need to hold on to the inside of the roof edge, and I am sure over time I will either get it dirty or wear on the liner material. So I would add one if I could get it to match. And before someone says get a long handled squeegee I have one, just don't like them as you still need to wipe the streaks off that they always leave.

Same my friend ! 1 knee replaced, another coming. … too many years of beating up joints. A handle would be helpful.

I am of the opinion that it would be nice to have one on the drivers side. I have a Tremor Ranger and two bad knees, so I step up onto the running board to get in. Having the grab handle would make it easier. I also would like it for the asymmetry of it too.
