Got home after a 2 day, 1300 mile trip and parked in the garage and now the whole garage smells of gas coming from the engine area. Not raw gas like from the gas station pump, but smelling different than that. Possibly in the oil? Woke up this morning and the smell was still strong in the garage.
I just checked the dipstick and I'm pretty sure that's what it is. Is that a concern? I would think I have engine damage now? I might have driven a lot of miles at 85 to 95. ?

did your level go up significantly?
It's all the way up past the twist and covers the first four letters/digits of the oil dipstick part number KB3E.
I did a 2 1/2" lift on the front last week but I forgot to check the oil level before and after to see what the difference would be.

Nick, sorry to hear you're having this problem. There is the "Fuel in oil" thread where many others are having the same issue. You can read through that one (it's very long) but there doesn't seem to be anything consistent on why it's happening.

This is probably the best thread to read as Joe @jsphlynch did a survey and spent a lot of his own time trying to determine the cause of this.

Then there's this one about the catch cans.

Thank you Dave. I stopped by the Ford dealer and they’re going ahead and giving me a free oil change and setting me an appointment to take care of it.

Don't panic yet. If you have 2 or 3 thousand miles on the truck I'd change the oil sticking with ford synthetic blend then change to full synthetic around 6 to 8 thousand miles. I had this problem at first an had the dealership correct the oil level, changed the oil at 3K an went to full synthetic at 8K an I haven't had a strong odor since, just a slight one an oil analysis says I'm in good shape on 5K oil change intervals.

My personal opinion is switching to full synthetic too soon doesn't allow rings an other moving parts to break in an seat. Turbo's and direct injection are hard on motor oil so I do full synthetic an 5K change intervals after break in.

What is your expertise to make this statement?

But they're pulling my leg I think. They're saying Ford is aware of it but has no idea what's causing it. I have no idea how about fuel is getting an oil. I find that hard to believe. I told him what about the engine damage and they said it's aluminum engine when I getting any damage from it. As is that's what they tell you to tell us right and he gave me the look. If I get away to the lemon law on this then I'm moving over to the Explorers. I'm waiting on my appointment for this so they can give me a loaner this time

Just thinks I've experienced 40 years of hot rodding cars an building my street strip mustangs. Proper break in used to be critical. It's less important now with better tolerances out of the factory. There is a theory that synthetic oil doesn't allow for a thorough break in. I know some high end cars some with full synthetics from the factory but the only ones I know of are low production high performance engines not slapped together on the regular assembly line.

I was also going off my personal experience with my 2019. I had the strong fuel smell an high oil level at 1,200 miles. Had the oil level corrected an changed the oil/filter at 4300 miles with the blend. At 8300 I went to mobile 1 an haven't had a problem. I've read a ton of forums of peoples experiences with eco boost engines. Some trucks have proven unfixable an had to be returned under the lemon law. Some replaced the fuel pump/injectors an shown improvement.

I had some fuel smell as well, think it's common with GDI engines. Add a turbo to it and it's going to make it worse. Personally I just make sure to change my oil every 5K, and I get on my truck every once and a while. I don't baby it. If I see an open stretch of road, ill punch it and open her up at least once a week.
