How much bigger can we go with no lift? Looking at 265/70/17 which are 31.6 vs the stock 265/65/17 which are 30.5. so that only equates to 1/2" difference in diameter approx.

I'd love to know the answer to this also. And if anybody has pics of larger tires without lift

I went an inch bigger in diameter 31.5” with 265/65/18 Duratracs
The stock one was 30.5” 265/60/18 Hankook Dynapro
No issues so far at 140 plus miles.
I think the issue would be the width, so I checked this first
https://tiresize.com/comparison/
According to the size calculator, the width is the same with the tires I chose.

Interested too. Should have my truck in about a week. Tires will be the first thing.

Let us know! I like my color match rims but would definitely like some beefier tires.

Still haven't found a dedefiniti answer to how big you can go on the sport 17 wheels(current 255/65) without a any mods/lifts/levels.
I may just order some 265/70 and take my chances. I can't imagine that would be an issue as the FX4 tires are 265/65. That's dam close. Worst case i'll just level the front if I have to

Also do you need to upgrade the spare? Or because it's a temp it's not a problem to run a bit lower diameter tire for a short time.

265/70-17 Hankook DYNAPRO ATM RF10 is a factory option on my order. I'll be running that until I find the proper lift then I'll mount my 285/70-17:like:

You should definitely upgrade the spare. Your spider gears in your diff will absolutely hate you if you run a different diameter. However, it does suck buying a brand new tire just to be used as a spare, so I would recommend getting a cheap used tire that is the same size to mount as a spare. It should do the job in a pinch. That's what I'm planning to do at least!

Does anyone know if a 285/65-17 + 20 offset wheel and trimmed deflection beams would fit without lift? Or is this just not physically possible?

If the crash bars are "modified" and one can fit that fat wheel/tire combo inside the stock front wheel well, is it possible to lower the rear to get to level? That is, lower the rear rather than lifting the front?
