I'm sure this has been talked about and if so please forgive me. I did search for this particular topic and I got a ton of results and fishing through several didnt find anything specific.

I have a 2020 Ranger , just turned 30k on the odometer. Like alot of people it had the stumble when shifting which I've learned to deal with. Dont like it but learned to deal with it.
However, the stalling out after stopping and then starting to go again is something I cant tolerate.
Does anyone know what is causing it and have a fix.
No check engine light. No pending codes but I have an old actron scanner. So there's that.
. I am the second owner at just 30k so I'm assuming someone else had some issues and got rid of it.
Love the truck if it didn't stumble and now started dying. Sometimes it dies die it just looses all power for 3 seconds or 4 and then picks up all of a sudden and recovers good and strong.

Sounds like the Auto Start Stop is activated which shuts off the engine when you come to a complete stop. There is a switch next to the shift to deactivate it. It comes on by default so you have to deactivated every time unless you mod it. Search ASS or Auto Start Stop.

That's not a bug, it's a feature.

I put it on my 2019 Ranger and when I sold it I took it out and now I put it on my 2021 Ranger and I love it.
Dang! I recall people selling their car with the rented hooptie wheels/tires. The buyer was in for a rude awakening when he went to pick up the car.....

I agree with you. These are quality devices which eliminate the need to de-activate the Start/Stop feature by pressing the button every time you start the motor. Installed it on mine and this is one of the best upgrades done to my truck!

Does not sound like the auto start stop to me. I have mine disabled and the exact situation has happened to me a half dozen times. Seems to happen when it is hot outside. The dealer totally blew it off as there were no codes thrown. Very scary when you are pulling out in traffic and the truck "stalls" momentarily.

The way the OP describes it sounds like the Auto Start/Stop. I would like to know how long he has owned the truck and the weather conditions since ownership until the "problem" arose. Seems to me that he may have been running max AC or Defrost and the ASS was deactivated or, maybe he always drove through areas without stop signs or, it has shut off before and he didn't notice because the radio was loud. Who knows? There are numerous reasons for it not to happen and now it did or he just noticed.

I tend to agree.
Early on my truck did the stall part, most of the time at low speeds and needing to accelerate quickly, very annoying especially when you want to go and quickly.
Since then I added a tune, replaced the coils and bitched at my dealer.
Most of my issues were up to about 15K miles and has sinced smoothed out greatly. I'm almost convinced that my new truck had water it the tank.

Now at 30K I've been running a tune but recently went back to the stock tune and was surprised of how well it behaved, almost as if the performance tune was still installed except for the shifting. The stock tune shifts earlier and drops into 10th gear much earlier. I was manually shifting into 10th when hopping on the interstate because the performance tune stayed in 9th more that I liked it.

I went back stock out of curiosity and to see if my fuel mileage would pick up considering the "build back better" plan is costing me an arm and leg at the pump among other places. So now I'm going to run reg for awhile but I am surprised of how well the truck runs, for now, with the stock tune. I also replaced the tires so its riding great too.

Unless the ASS function is screwed up and shutting off when the gas pedal is mashed I think the OP has another issue.
