No one knows for sure until it is officially announced, but I highly doubt the 6G Ranger will be a 2022 model. I would expect it will be a 2023 model at the earliest. Supplier issues, chips shortages, etc have all had a negative effect on the new model launches and I'm pretty sure Ford is trying hard to get the Bronco out the door instead of focusing on the 6G Ranger.

But whenever they do get released, they should have better tech and hopefully better options.
The 6G Ranger was always going to be a 2023 Model Year. The 5G always has been one of the last models to change MY's.
Here's the latest I've seen:
2022 Ranger Production Information - Ranger Forum - Blue Oval Forums copy.webp

Like this year, we probably won't see 2022 Rangers until around Christmas or later.

And the Maverick, too. Both of which will raise the bar for what buyers will expect from the 6G.

Definitely missing on the Lariat:
- Better gauge design. The side screens are too small and useless.
- Sunroof
- Heated steering wheel
- Auto Up/Down window switches (all)

Missing on all models:
- Better bed design with 120 or 12v power (lazy that Ford missed this one)
- Rear seat design that has usable storage or folds flat.
- Tailgate damper

...and don't get me started on the rear springs and factory shocks. Has anyone considered a class action suite for the shocks? Who doesn't replace them?

-I'll agree on the right side, but the left side is fine if you set it up properly.

-For the love of God please don't force us into sunfoofs by trim level. I don't want my headroom needlessly reduced.

-Sure.

-I'd actually like to remove auto up and down on the drivers side.

-If I need power back there I'd rather do it myself. As evidenced by the 120V in the cab and the factory bed 12v wiring, they'd probably make it too small

-Storage in the truck is fine, foldflat rears would be cool.

-A tailgate damper? Really? GTFO with that shit.

And I don't think you understand how lawsuits work. You can't sue just because you don't like something. You have to have actual damages.

The only thing that really bugs me is that only the driver window is one touch down and up. All window switches should be one touch down period.

All the trucks should have a hitch, 7way and TBC too, but at least those things were pretty easy to add and probably cost me less than they would have factory.

Jesus. I was stating my opinion as that is the whole point of this thread.

Auto up down on my drivers window already stopped working so you would be happy about that.

The lawsuit comment was meant as a joke.

Carry on...

- Open from side / removable sides for flat bed
- External tie down hooks / anchor points on bottom.
- 3-way tipper

e.g. Something like this but retaining the original looks..

every time I get out of the truck with my shirt soaking wet I remember how annoying it is that ford didn't bother with a seat cooler option

I didn't read through the thread so I'm sure my list is already posted, but here it is (off the top of my head) And, possibly, at least on lariat trim.

Full electric memory seats.
Auto folding mirrors.
Don't charge scab owners full price for having non B&O stereo... I mean, really? Or, do an under seat woofer with B&O head unit. Come on.
Bumper step, again, WTF?

These aren't a sore point to me, but:
Heated steering wheel, and vented seats
Wireless charging tray

There's probably others, but I bought a lariat for the creature comforts and feel what I got, while it's OK since I haven't had other new vehicles to compare, it's not up to snuff.

First of all, how dare you? Second, what's up with your auto window not working? Did you spill something on it or do anything else to it? I haven't heard anything about the window switches going bad... yet.

I installed the Kicker speaker upgrade from Stage 3 last week and installed sound deadener in the doors. I guess disconnecting the window switch caused the auto function to stop working. I ran across another post that instructed rolling the window all the way down and then rolling up (w switch in the auto up position) and holding it for 2-3 seconds after the window was up. This reset the system and now it works again!
BTW: Sound deadener was a great call. Quieter and the doors don't make that annoying ping when I slam them. Speaker upgrade was a disappointment. Cleaner sound but less bass. I will be looking for a subwoofer.
