Bed lights are the one thing I still haven't made up my mind on. I have some ideas but I don't really like the ones in the ford catalog that you have to tap on to activate.

What I'd ideally like are LEDs hidden under the bed rails, that are triggered by a magnetic switch whenever the tailgate is open. Kinda like in this ChrisFix video, although I think the lights across the rear bulkhead look kinda bad.
I'd also like to tie them into one of the upfitter switches rather than installing a switch in the rear of the truck.

KC Highlites Underhood 2 light kit, with harness and switch.

I adapted a dash phone mount with magnetic connect, attached to them in reverse. 3M tape to the back of the light, the magnetic base sticks to truck box walls, or steel attachment points stuck to the underside of my tonneau cover.

Move them from point to point as needed, tuck them out of the way when not needed. Pivot heads for functionality.

To take it a step further, I bought a set for under hood, and under tonneau. I also bought 2 Cyclone lights with diffused lens, and swapped them in. I have a spot and a diffused cyclone under both hood and tonneau, all on pivots.

I also added a LED string light, under the back half of my tonneau for less intense lighting.

Sorry no photos of the final product, as wiring is not complete, and it's a mess still.

The cyclone are small, powerful, super tough lights. They can be mounted almost anywhere.

Interesting in this as well. I'm ordering a ranger tremor and will have a tonneau cover. Trying to figure out the lighting situation for the bed and how to wire it to the aux switches.

I just got a Tremor with a tonneau, I am looking at a battery powered one as I won’t really use it that much but I had it on my F150 and it was handy at night.

I have added lights along the tonneau cover rail in my last few trucks. One thing I liked about the F-series was the time-out f you leave the lights on.
So I decided I would do this on my Ranger (built last week, waiting on delivery).

I have the parts I need. Bright white weather-proof LED strips, a momentary switch, and a latching relay with an adjustable timer circuit. It is an on-off-timed off circuit. The timer can be adjusted between 1-15 minutes.

I plan to post about it once I do the install. Hopefully soon

I did mine on aluminum profile that slips right over my BedRug and is held on to the upper part of the bed with 3M Emblem tape. Switched under the edge and power provided from the under bed connection with the 2 hour timeout disabled via ForScan.

Nilight on Amazon

Used the power source from the Wolfhaus split power harness.
Did you go with the 12V Marine Socket or the 3Ft Pigtail from Wolfhaus? What made you chose the one you chose?

Your setup looks great! You should do a little write-up on the install! ;)

Thanks! I went with the marine socket since it is basically a normal 12V outlet in a car. I figured most things I would power back there would connect to that, including any sort of battery like a jackery for future use. Also, could use it with a normal inverter as well.

did a DYI, parts from Amazon, total cost under $20.00. tied it into the plug by the driver side rear tire, I added a switch in the bed, but that hot wire is hot when the truck is on and stays hot for about 20 minutes after thetruck is turned off as well.

Used Light pods from Amazon, made my own wiring harness to tap into the 12v plug under the bed, and installed a push button switch in the bed wall. Install was very easy. Laid out pods and decided I only needed 4 total (2 per side), used 3M adhesive promoter to stick the pods in place under the bed rails (along with wiring clips to hold wires snug), drilled the hole in the bed side for the switch, and soldered up a harness with the stock plug for the optional 12v under the bed. No night shots, it's sunny and hot right now.
