What Features SHOULD your Ranger Have but Ford Missed?

Is there a repository of older versions I can access?

It isn't a Ford site, but you can use this updater to "downgrade" if you want to:

Unfortunately I didn't save any of the previous versions so even with the tool I can't downgrade.

I believe it will allow you to download other versions to do the downgrade. It isn't coming from Ford servers, but it does seem relatively safe.

I just tried it, selecting the original version 19200 and it worked:

I used it to downgrade to 20351. Worked fine. That seems to be the last version that Sirius worked with.

I didn't look into it at all because I have no desire for a manual but I know Doug @D Fresh didn't have much good to say about it. There wasn't a huge take on them either, I think it was only 20% of sales on the B6G forum. Not that that's a good indication of what everyone else (that's not on there) will order but the true enthusiast are and that says something.

Just to be clear.

My concern with with 7 spd is only based on history.

The last new Ford Getrag, the MT85 was and still is troublesome to many.

I also have a STX, and have no issues heating car started with Ford pass.

Used it all winter to melt snow on windshield before I get in and start.

No sure what your doin wrong. Leave heat settings in when part truck. Auto start via Ford pass. Warm and comfy before I get in.

You dont need a driver's side handle to grab onto if you already have a steering wheel and a step to get into the truck. Its not like you are climbing into a M35 deuce and a half. Also, the A post being close to the driver (as in any vehicle) creates a blind spot you have to look around. You dont want to have that driver's side handle as an additional optical obstacle.

You have to download the syn3 updater from the cyan labs website and then configure it - it will download the files for you and create the USB drive that will update your sync system.

Cool Seats.....for the price of a Lariat, they should have included cool seats for us in warmer climates. A glaring omission in my opinion.

Raptor comes with driver's side handle. It's pretty well aligned with the A-pilar and seems not to produce any additional obstruction outside of the pilar. Never use it tho.

Right? I think this is the only thing I am really unhappy about my Ranger. Older Mustangs have them!

I don't think voice controls will work if you have a smartphone connected as it will invoke Siri or Google Assistant.

You need to get out of Apple Car Play or Android and back to the Sync program, by hitting the Home button on the steering wheel. Then hit the Voice button and hope for the best. By the time you go through all that, it's just as simple to hit the Climate button on the sync screen.

If they did offer a manual tranny all of the other features that we have with the auto would disappear. TM, traction control, etc…

Wouldn't be much advantage anyway.
