Eh, we'll see. The OEM standard headlights are a joke and frankly Ford should be embarrassed... so I'm willing to try some things to be able to see at night. I'm not willing to pay for stupid headlights that have stupid dancing light shows every time you turn the car on.
I’ve been running Auxito LED hi & lo bulbs in my halogen reflectors for over 2 years. They’ve been outstanding.

I have Auxito 1:1 led bulbs in stock XLT housing with no issues. They are much better than stock and not blinding. I've never been flashed and even had my wife drive the truck while I drove her car to make sure I wasn't blinding people. I had other led bulbs in the f150 and had to take them out due to being blinding to others but I don't have that problem with my current lights
You guys probably aren't getting flashed because it's not the brightness effected. It's the glare.

Stop being cheap. If you want LED headlights buy a model that has them, or buy aftermarket.

Stop putting everybody else in danger just so you can spend less money.

There are many options for our truck in drop in fog replacements as well. A replacement LED fog can be a good partner to lesser performing halogen headlights.

Why not drop some Baja Designs Squadron SAEs into your fog pockets? Would be a much better, and more considerate option.

TL: DR. Drop in LED headlights are for cheap douchebags.

You are 100% right with this. I used to have the drop-in LEDs and they were causing a lot of glare towards other drivers which is why I would be back. Now that I have the projector assemblies from alpha Rex I do not have the issue

As a person who logs over 50,000 miles a year driving at night for a living, I could say the same about you. ;)

Edit: Overestimated the mileage I log.

Thank you for switching them out.

Way to keep it civilized... I stand by what I said about my 1:1 led drop in bulbs. The cut off/glare is no different than my halogen bulbs. I've had poor luck with other led bulbs but for whatever reason, the 1:1 don't have any problems
Science says you're wrong.

Daniel Stern said:
What matters much more is the amount and distribution of light under the cutoff, and that gets pretty scrambled (randomized) with most ‘LED bulbs’ in most halogen headlamps. To give just one of many examples of how easy it is to get tripped up on this point: Sometimes you’ll get a reasonably sharp cutoff with an “LED bulb”, but the hot spot (assuming it still exists) is moved.

Every last little bit of downward and/or rightward movement of the hot spot decreases the seeing distance for the driver, but the beam on the wall looks like it has a nice cutoff and hot spot.”
It's a good, quick, read.

I'll take my real world experience over and article. Typically I would agree that LED bulbs in halogen housings are blinding and not beneficial. That's why I removed them from my old truck For whatever reason though, my current set up let's me see better and does not blind other drivers. This isn't based on just the fact that I've never been flashed either. I've spoken with friends and family in cars, SUVs, and trucks and every single one of them has said they don't get blinded or have any issue regardless if they are facing me or if I'm following.

I'm not suggesting you take the word of "an article."

I'm suggesting you read a bit, listen to an expert, and TRY to understand that there MIGHT be some things you're unaware of.

Yep - I also have the Auxito's and they are fine - just make sure they are the 12k and NOT the 16k!

I have 2019.

I upgraded High/Low Beam with Diode Dynamics HID bulbs and upgraded fog lights with Baja Designs Squadron SAE. It was a definite improvement over OEM.

I also installed two Lightforce Genesis lights for back/off road and a Baja Designs S8 LED (10") below the grill for side streets and secondary routes around town.

Even my ranger with aftermarket auxito lights is still less than my stock f150 lariat lights. The lariat lights were brighter and the truck was higher so everyone would flash you. I just think it's the new level of brightness on newer trucks people aren't used to. There are definitely some people with poorly aimed lights but that goes for less, halogens, etc. The stock xlt halogens are terrible I'd upgrade them and shine a little light in people's eyes anyway over using the stock ones and not seeing anything on the road.

Hello im looking to replace all my stock halogen with LED,

what do i need to overhaul everything?

thanks
For the fog lights I would go with Diode Dynamics. You can get them in yellow or clear. I have the yellow ones and absolutely love them!

they shouldn't have to "get used to it"--trucks are notorious for having bad glare because of shitty lights with shitty aim. now that IIHS is adding "glare" to its rating criteria I'd expect that to change, but it'll take a while.

I don't know where the LED bulb haters are coming from in here. My 2019 XLT has the normal reflector housings. I have replaced both my high and low beams and my fogs lights all with LEDs and they have provided a WORLD of difference as far as visibility on the road. I have stood in front my truck with the new lights in at several different distances and there is no appreciable gain in glare, only an appreciable color temperature difference.

Replacing these bulbs were the very first thing I did to my truck when I bought it and it's the best thing I ever did on it. I have a girlfriend who has the exact same truck but hasn't changed out her bulbs and side by side it is almost comical how awful her halogens looks compared to mine. My beam spread is almost exactly the same as stock, but the light is brighter and whiter and provides so much better visibility. I would never ever go back.

I don't know if the haters on here are simply installing them wrong, getting the wrong ones... or if they work for the halogen bulb makers, but swapping in LEDs for ALL your lighting is one of the best things you can do.

And no... it's not illegal to put LEDs in a reflector housing. That's just ridiculous.

Here are the bulbs I used. They've been in a year now with no problems. No one has EVER flashed their lights at me or complained.

Idk why some of the people in here at hating at people for upgrading their lights and getting mad at them. Be mad at Ford for making shit halogen lights in 2021 on 30k$ + trucks
