Is that what you ended up with? Literally the first Ranger I looked at was a XL supercab 4WD and that’s what I bought. Do wish I had cruise control though lolI wanted a supercab for the longer bed. I looked a long time to find a base model, supercab, XL, 4WD. Not a common truck I can promise you.
Seeing my truck being used on fleets now so maybe in a couple of years they'll be more plentiful.
Exactly what I bought. I liked all the fancy options until I looked at the price tag. I purchased the ranger solely for the drive train which is the same regardless of the trim package. Is that what you ended up with? Heck ya! One of the things I love when planning a trip with friends.. nobody says “hey Tyler let’s take your truck!” It fits my wife, my daughter and I just fine in the rare case we don’t drive my wife’s SUV. Also a 5’ bed would drive me insane..No regrets here! Probably would have gotten the crew cab if my ex were still part of the equation, but the supercab is 100% what I wanted. Bonus: nobody wants to ride in the back!

I went one step further. I ordered mine without the back seats. No regrets here! Probably would have gotten the crew cab if my ex were still part of the equation, but the supercab is 100% what I wanted. Bonus: nobody wants to ride in the back!

Guess it really depends on what you do mostly. I never had much of a problem with the four foot bed on my previous Sport Tracs with what I do with beds.SuperCab owner here. I've never liked crew cabs.... their proportions are wacky.
Heck... I wish an 8 ft bed was available, I don't know how folks get by with just a 5 ft bed? I guess because most folks don;t really haul much, except passengers?
Here's a thread related to the rarity of SuperCabs I started back in Sept 2019: SuperCab Rangers are Rare Here, How About Your Location?

Exactly. The rise of the SUV and then Crew Cab trucks was ironically instigated by the CAFE standards that all but outlawed large cars like station wagons that were the standard family haulers of the '60s and '70s. The demand for vehicles that could carry 4+ passengers plus their gear remained and led to the rise of the minivan in the '80s and then SUVs in the '90s which were not subject to the same fuel economy standards that passenger cars were.SUV is nothing but a station wagon/van shrunk for gas mileage mandates. 4 door trucks are cars with open beds.
