I have no technical/mechanical/enginerring-ical training, but doesn't this kind of put pretty much all of the responsibility on the OP:

"No sir, was just driving down I-45 towards Houston for work... there was some knocking that happened, and became louder, then the red oil pressure light came on... i pulled over and called into work... said I wasn’t gonna make it... it was about 5:00 a.m. central standard time... I called into work, restarted the truck, and it was loud... no oil light now... drove as slow as I could back to home"

Might there be a case for a warranty issue if the OP had just stopped where he was and had the truck towed? Seems (to me) that continuing to drive the truck could have damaged it beyond anyone's ability to see what actually MIGHT have been the cause of the catastrophe to begin with.

I return you now to today's episode of As the Crank Turns...

Why do you feel entitled? Project Midnight doesn't need to share any of this. And with folks like you treating him like shit, I'm surprised he is even still posting anything.
Bingo. None of us have a dime invested in the outcome of this dilemma. I feel bad for the OP and want the best outcome for him, but damn ha.

Like many here, I want the best outcome for the OP, but as a member of this community it would be nice if we could get some information on what failed, the true cause of said failure (if that can be determined), and what the resolution is. I understand that he does not owe that to anyone, but he did share and has continued to, so it would be nice to know for everyone's benefit if he can get this information and get a resolution.

the decision about the dealerships, is that some dealerships will not install anything, even its from Ford Performance, unless its stock... if another dealership will install my Ford Performance exhaust, that I bought from FORD, while Mak Haik says ā€noā€ why would I give them my business??
Usually a ford dealer will install Ford parts if you order them through their parts dept at their price.

I posted this somewhere before:

Many gas stations back in the vinyl roof and carburetor days had a sign in their waiting area that read something like this-
  • HOURLY SHOP RATE...........$10.00
  • IF YOU WATCH......................$15.00
  • IF YOU HELP............................$20.00
  • IF WE USE YOUR PARTS...$25.00

The truck will be worked on at the Ford Dealership Mac Haik in Pasadena, I asked Mac Haik about installing the Ford Performance Exhaust that I already purchased, to save me some money... Nope, the exhaust voids the warranty... It has to be completely stock, as from the manufacturer to reinstate the warranty... the warranty won’t be a new 3/36,000 mile etc, it will just be a continuation of my current warranty, which I’m at 20,000 miles... So I basically have to buy all new parts, just to take them all off and replace them again... it’s ridiculous... and to D Fresh, you sound like a real Douche to bring my wife into this topic... I’m sorry that I donā€˜t spin glow sticks at night clubs trying to ’roll with my boyz’ and act a fool as you... PEACE OUT BIG ā€œDā€!!! Maybe you SHOULD leave this forum... Like another poster said... ā€œWhy Wait??ā€

to everyone else that has been supportive, I have said before, my life commitments need to be kept. I update when I can, but Stage 3 Motorsports, is helping, and I will be paying out of pocket as well... I’ll be glad to get my truck back, cause I’m sick of driving rentals...

Maybe somebody here that's a member who is putting aftermarket exhaust on their truck would give you their old factory exhaust, or make you a sweet deal?

Or maybe call the manufacturer of your aftermarket exhaust and see if they can give you a lead on somebody you could call that is buying an aftermarket exhaust.

In any event, you've taken a lot of heat here. Keep the faith and thanks for sharing all of this with us.

I mean I see how YOU might, but not your wife.

However, it was not meant to offend. Just meant to point out the fact that while you've received a lot of solid advice in this thread, you've followed none of it while only providing murky details.

I continue to hold out hope for you to resolve this in a manner that is satisfactory to you. Good luck.
D Fresh, trust me, I’ve listened to everyone’s responses, angles, etc... what would be best for me? Also, I want to be forthcoming to the new guy that buys my truck. I look at my situation, and would I be comfortable buying a truck, that someone has modified? Or would I prefer a stock truck, I build up myself. I wouldn’t choose to buy one already modified beyond an air filter and exhaust... but that’s just me... my hesitation was trying to figure out, what to do? I basically built this Ranger, to be as close to the Raptor Ranger I want, but voiding my warranty while doing it. When the engine blew, it caught me off guard, and what was my path forward. 3 Stage jumped in immediately... Ford never sent pics or what actually failed etc... No pictures were sent. I’m taking vacation tomorrow until next Thursday, because ā€˜Jamie’ said that pictures will need to be sent etc, and as I was askingā€I thought you already sent picsā€ OK, bye... I’ll be going up there physically, to take my own pictures, and post them. ?

I'm trying to rationalize how these mechanical mods could cause any failure unless I missed more boost or if the tune allowed the engine to operate out of range somehow?

It does sound like Ford just saw MODS! (ZOMG!) and decided they were absolved of any component failure.

If it's just intake (not intercooler+throttle body), catback exhaust (not fat downpipe) I don't perceive the validation.

IF there was a higher output turbo, higher flowing injectors and the other mods that don't appear to have been done WITH a mistake in the tune which seems unlikely I just don't get it. Did the oil filter fail?

No, there was more boost, etc... its said and done, and I want to thank, everyone for stepping in, especially, Stage 3 Motorsports... they were the fastest by my side, and stuck with me through the fight. for that, I thank them. Ford has posted nothing as what caused the failure, and posted to me no pictures sent. Just going to go on my own, and go on from there... i want pictures, and I’ll get them, if they won’t send them to me..

the fact that Stage3 stepped in, they didn’t have to, and neither did Ford... and thats what angers me... we’re back to ā€œall the modsā€ to repair it under warranty? Stage 3 stepped in immediately, and Ford doesn’t even have the audacity to send me pics... what failed?? What caused it to fail?? A little info would be nice!!

Hi Jamie, can I get some of those pics you keep claiming ford needs??? Can I get some of those pictures you said your dealership sent?? I requested to be off Of work, so that I can participate. I’m going to take pics of my own... see you soon... ?

There was a 3ā€ down pipe, AFE straight through exhaust, AFE intake, AFE inner cooler tubes, and a new tune for every modification... Stage 3 was there, all the way... they never balked... Ford has a similar tune. I know its not the same, but are we starting to split hairs?. And this is where it gets really exciting... they wouldn’t cover my Ford Motorsport Exhaust, under warranty... where would my Ford Tune go from there? Covered or not? Voided Warranty?? Let’s play the game Chess Players!! Basically sounds like, that you canā€˜t touch your truck at all... So why should I buy a K/N Air filter from Autozone for a little boost in horsepower to void my warranty... 15 hp, doesn’t seem worth it ?

@raquet, I understand your concern, and questions... Ford has given me no response on what failed... they have pretty much given me the blanket sweep ā€It’s all the modsā€ I’m working with 5 star, and as I’ve said, they’ve been by my side, all the way. everything is OK...
