I love how nobody mentions the Magnussen Moss Warranty Act anymore :) Basically the manufactures out is "We engineered it for X, and you made it do Y which is not X, warranty denied" and that's to the letter of the law. It's crappy, but that's all they need to say (proven by this thread).
My favorite takeaway from this thread is the statement "Ford has to prove that your mods/tune ruined the engine"

what could be simpler ?

The X and Y thing is as simple as it gets, yet as complicated as any manufacturer has to be.

all joking aside, but so far we have to take the OP's rendition of the events through the dealership and Ford per se as if its the truth.
if someone is calling the dealership a joke, then i kinda agree.
based on the OP's situation as relayed, would you be thinking they were a dealership that didn't deserve the joker moniker if this had happened to you?
Until otherwise proven, they have failed on several aspects of this situation. No part in discussing those any further as the dead horse GIF will get played.
You know which parts are questionable on their part.
Opinions vary. I choose not to disparage the dealership because, as you point out, we only have one side of the story.

Since the dealership name has been posted here, that seems the prudent thing to do.

i believe he listed his mods on previous page
I didn't see a downpipe at first, but I think he mentioned the mods later and it was mentioned on the previous page like you said. I didn't see if it was catless or not. The reason I asked is that with the 5-Star/Stage 3 warranty, that would be cause to void it. It mentions specifically that a non-catted downpipe is a no-no for them.

How does the Ford approved exhaust void the warranty?

Just because Ford sells a part that fits on a Ranger for a Ranger doesn't mean that part won't void the warranty. If it's not an original part design that was assembled at the factory you need to check for warranty compliance.

They are pretty good about marketing if a part meets warranty specifications. Like for their performance tune...

How does the Ford approved exhaust void the warranty?

This is supposedly why they won’t use my Ford Performance Exhaust, to help save me money, because it’s apparently “Off Road“ only... the lady said, there should be something in the box, stating so... well, here it is... so I have to pay for a new stock exhaust, after purchasing their performance exhaust, that I’m going to replace anyway, because its not going to put me back into warranty mode etc... Then she asked me, would I like to keep all the parts that I’ve purchased?? Are you serious?? No, go ahead and throw them all away so that I can repurchase them again to bring my truck back to where it was... I want to thank Stage 3 for helping me through this... Ford’s people are just reading a pre programmed statement and phone numbers, keeping you in a constant circle of who to talk to next... It’s Fords‘ game.... Thank you Stage 3, for standing by my side... ??

sadly that's the game many places are using for a wide variety of products and services.

I'm trying to cancel my internet right now, and my provider is giving me that run around as well.
LMAO!!, is he running you through a back router while trying to cancel your Primary ?

So I'll ask one more time, What is 5 star doing about this? You paid good money for a warranty though them and shouldn't be going through all this BS. I know things don't happen overnight but you're going into the third month now? If Ford is denying to cover it than I'm guessing that both Ford and 5 Star are trying to work things out?
5 Star is covering everything... ? they’ve been beside my side from the get go!! I’ll be selling this Ranger when the new 2022 Ranger Raptor comes this way... and I will flash it with a 5 Star Tune... ?

As promised, I finally have pics for you... I’m not an engine builder etc, so I have no idea what I’m looking at... but when asked what caused the failure, it was still... “All the Mods”... hope this helps... I still believe the oil pump failed, due to the “LOW OIL PRESSURE” light in red, and Ford chose “all the mods” to not cover it.... thank you Stage 3 for standing by my side.. ??

Almost looks like a dropped valve. In any event, looks like you're sorted now.

Those are about the s****iest pictures ever. Lol. It really does look like a borescope pic. Something definitely let go and hammered the hell out of the chamber and the piston from the looks of those pics. Too bad they are not clearer.

I am glad 5-Star/Stage 3 is helping out, but I honestly would not mess with 5-Star again with another tune. I was all in for them at first, but as things progressed it seemed that they were chasing issues that they had no idea how to fix and were caused by tuning parameters that they may have best left alone. If it was something that I was asking for that was not doable, then I should have been told, but honestly I did not ask for anything beyond what I have asked any other tuner. When I started getting spark knock almost constantly with 5-Star I set them to work on it, but could get no feedback, other than a customer service person relaying my logs, etc. to the tuners, and no new version for weeks so I went with Unleashed. Unleashed may not feel as hard-core, but it is much more drivable and without weird hiccups. Power-wise I think there is very little difference if any, especially considering how much smoother things are now. Plus the responsiveness of service is amazing. I am not sure if 5-Star has gotten too big too fast, or is only tuning for certain conditions and not considering all variables, or they are trying too much at once. I just know that I finally did get a revision from them and I put it in the other day for kicks and giggles and it was horrible. The transmission even made a weird "woosh" sound when slowing down like it was doing something weird with the line pressure and/or converter. Once I heard that I promptly pulled over, went back to stock and then reflashed the Unleashed tune.
