More pics of my 2020 plug. I pulled one of the blue plugs out. Appears to be functional with the correct pins.
The original builds literally had wires hanging out & cut off. This version certainly looks harder to remove, with less to hold onto.

@EJH 's 2021 plug shown may be a simple rubber dust plug with a pull tab. More pennies saved.
I thought it kinda looked like that--if it does have a pull tab, then it seems like a big step up in functionality.

My 2021 plug seems plastic, but definately harder to grip. I will try with some narrow pliers next week (away from the truck for a few days). Funny the other plugs do look like real plugs, with no wires, lol.

I have found pins and mating conn bodies by doing a visual search on this site - comber-sum but effective.

Ths one as well, but these guys are CRAZY expensive - link is the Lariat Visor connector BTW

Found it on the site but yeah, the price is ridiculous.

yeah and they are very careful not to give away the real P/N. Try the other site as well. Or if you can find the connector in the wireing diagram, I have had success searching by the connector number as well.
Good Luck!

Other site doesn't have it.

I managed to get the dummy plug out, and install Ethan's kit. Removing the dummy plug was much easier once I pulled the truck in the garage, laid on my back and reached up. I was previously trying to reach it from the side, on my sloped driveway.

Here are some pics of the dummy plug.

As everyone else has already mentioned. This kit is well built. Kudos.

I just installed my kit I got last week. Mostly difficult and time consuming part was looking for a utility knife to scrape the bedliner material away from the opening in the bed so it fits. Took about 5 minutes to install. Phil is correct in that it is a most elegant solution.

Please advise.. What are the pros/cons of Wolfhaus over the $65 oem approach that began this thread?

LOL cant remember how thread started!
But having went with Wolfhaus I can say its a very clean plug and play install, requires no hole cutting and has the option to have a pig tail tap added for another power circuit for things like bed lights.
Ethan has made a really nice product. Some might argue its $$$, BUT its quality construction and we are supporting a fellow Ranger/Forum member trying to make a living and help us all out at the same time. Well worth the cost IMHO.

No cutting/drilling of the bed. Some people prefer the ability to wire directly instead of using the cigarette socket plug (which can work loose, not be weather sealed) and the Wolf Haus option allows different types of wiring methods. Much faster install time (few minutes). Both are about the same price, but labor is the defining difference for most.

But don't take my word for it, others can chime in (or have previously in this thread).

Loud and clear.. Thanks for the responses.
