Just be aware that they are an OK tire and what does not help is the rear of the truck is light and the engine is turbocharged. Not the greatest combination if you ask me.

in what way do they suck?
Going through a puddle at speed , taking off from a light....its been awhile since we had a good rain here ......could have been experiencing what they call "Florida Ice" ..... traction control is on - I never turn it off .

the traction control should take care of that
unless he's turned it off or running in S
but if thats the case, theres part of his problem....when running in a downpour....
Agreed here about traction control. Anyone that runs without TC in the rain is a fool and if they try to use full throttle, even at say 40mph, they are gonna find themselves in a ditch. I’ve read where some folks want it permanently disabled. Bad idea that could get you killed.

I've had my ranger for 14 months an I haven't had a problem with them. They were aired up to over 40 PSI when I got the truck home. I try to run 32. Granted I have to use 4x4 if there's a few inches of snow on the ground but I don't add any weight to the back for winter.

I had some version of Bridgestone Duelers as the OEM tire on my 2016 Forester XT. They were unsafe at best, and dangerous at worst, in the rain. The best thing about them is they wore quickly and I replaced them with something else.

The Dynapro ATMs on my Ranger have been decent in the rain and snow. I will still likely replace them with something else, but as far as OEM tires on vehicles I've purchased in the last ~15 years, they seem better than many other OEM offerings I've driven on. You might consider a gently used pair of those from someone here in the wheels/tires for sale section.

Agree with you 100%. Just a slight press of the pedal on wet pavement and the truck gets all squirrelly. My next upgrade is a new set of tires.

One thing to remember, if It hasn't rained in a while oil and all kinds of slick stuff get on the highway and dries. When the first rain comes that stuff gets as slick as a baby's butt until it washed off. I've has Duelers on an F-150, have them on my Jeep, and now on my Ranger. I've never had a problem with them in the rain. And, we've had a ton of rain here in North Carolina.

Yup, Duelers are bad. First down pour in awhile for me today and slipping again. Can't wait to change out the tires in a few months. Just trying to get 30K miles out of these.

Which version do you have the HT or AT? I have the AT on my 4x4 and after about 20 k miles wet traction started falling off. . Going to try to get another 20k out of them before replacing.

You said you just bought the truck. How many miles have you put on it? Bran spankin new tires are slick as hell when before breaking in. Top that off with what the OP said about oil residual making roads slick and that’s going to be some mighty challenging driving especially in a truck your just getting use to.

Good point Trig,

I have the Dyna's & on first snow/ice the truck was really bad & I thought it was the
tires as many here don't like what they get on the truck. Since, we've had no issues
with the tires. No rain yet as it's -10c & will be for another week. So maybe since
the tires were new, it did not help.
