The short answer is nobody knows what, if any, damage will occur. The consensus is that high oil levels are bad (especially given the warnings in the manual about overfilling the crankcase) and gas in the oil could decrease the protections and cause more engine wear though.

The symptoms aren't noticeable unless you're looking for it. Smell of gas in the oil, and the level being high on the dipstick. It is reflected in oil sample analysis from places life Blackstone.

Ford also seems to be mostly giving people who are experiencing it the run-around.

That's the current tl;dr.

Sid, I assume you occasionally check your oil level between oil changes. If your oil level is not rising on your dip stick , then you are fine.

Don't worry you won't have to sniff your oil if you start having real problems the level will be about an inch or two or more over your full mark. Then it's not to funny.

Your probably gonna be good haven't heard of anyones problem starting with that amount of miles. Usually from the start to 20 to 25 thousand. Everything I've read anyway. My trouble started at between 8,500 and 9,000 miles!

Not something I'm proud of but, I do believe no other privately owned USA Ranger has as many miles...I'll be the lab rat for the longevity run...wish me luck...
