With its responsive and powerful drivetrain, refined ride, and impressive towing and fuel economy numbers, the 2019 Ford Ranger disrupts the midsize pickup race between the Tacoma, Colorado, and Honda Ridgeline, and it might just lead the pack now. (We’ll reserve judgment until the Jeep Gladiator arrives later this year.) Fancy stuff and all, the Ford Ranger is back and better than ever.Today’s midsize pickup buyers aren’t just looking for a minimalist vehicle that gets the job done.
They seem to be alone in their extreme review. Almost all reviews I've seen completely (or mostly) contradict this review. It is an interesting perspective though. They complain about being thrown about, but I wonder how they would review a similar mid-size truck? Or are they just beating Ford up because Ford says it was "redesigned from the ground up for the North American Market"? (which is a bit of an overstatement, IMO)
I'm up for objective criticism but this just doesn't seem to jive with the other reviews out there. Not sure what to make of it honestly.
I have not driven one, so I cannot comment on ride quality. But I find their gripes about it being an old truck to be valid, and their comments on the interior looking horrible also valid. There's nothing truck-like about that interior at all. So, I assume that if they're willing to be brutally honest about all those other things, then maybe they're onto something with the driving characteristics also. They seem to be alone in their extreme review. Ride quality is highly subjective, so what feels good to one person may feel bad to someone else. Same with the interior "look". My point was that when I look at reviews, I tend to look at patterns and/or trends. Most reviews were pretty consistent about what they liked and the ones that had negatives were also pretty consistent (mostly around hard plastic in the interior). This review seemed to be way outside of the trend for other reviews, which is why I question its objectivity. It just seems odd to me.I have not driven one, so I cannot comment on ride quality. The only way to find out will be for me to go drive one myself.
Watched this one today, he seems to be a little mixed up on the adaptive cruise control. One minute says it's standard, then says its part of the tech package (which it obviously is).
