I put one on and love it. Didn't think I needed one, but it is nice. I got tired of walking to the back with stuff to put in, and having to put it all down so that I could have two hands to lower the tailgate and keep it from slamming down. (I can't STAND it when that happens!!) The damper works great. Wished Ford just installed these on all new Rangers at the factory so that damper nay-sayers would have nothing to argue about!

No, it would be off before that truck hit my driveway. It takes one hand to lower the tailgate....just another lame excuse!

30 minutes ago in the Home Depot parking lot...

I have a cart full of shelving.

Pop the trunk handle and as the tailgate is smoothly lowering (much faster than the one in the video though, about 2 seconds to lower) I turn to the cart to load the shelving.

Random stranger walking by:

"That's about the slickest thing I've seen"

Since my happiness and self-worth is based on compliments and affirmation from random people that I don't know, I considered this a win.

While I'm at work MY time is worth money. So the less trips I have to make out to my truck the better. Average trips to and from my truck are 6-7 to unload then reload at the end of the day. Would be a real PITA if I have to make 12,especially in this 115 degree heat.
