My 2019 Lariat came with 18" wheels, the spare is a 17" steelie. I took the spare down and rolled it up next to the 18's and they are the same OD size. Concerning the spare, you want it to work when you need it, so don't neglect it! Every time I do an oil change, I crank the spare down, clean...
Wow, this has almost the same feel as a tailgate damper thread.... ASS drove me mad, I could not unplug that wire fast enough once I learned of it. Been happy with a damped tailgate and an engine that stays running ever since!
Had the same issue with my 97 Ranger. The spare was so brutally rusted on, I could hardly get it down when I needed it. What I do with my new Ranger is crank the spare down and clean it and lubricate chain mechanism every time I change the oil. I clean and lubricate the key lock thing too...
Unplugging the wire on the negative batt terminal worked for me. Absolutely hated Auto-Stop! Such an easy fix. Not paying $100.00 for a auto stop eliminator to do the same thing.
Don't care for the garage door buttons on the sun visor either. They should be on the upper-center console like...
I say keep the old Ranger, that's what I did. I've had my no-frills 1997 Ranger XLT since 2002. I still drive it to work everyday. I love my 2019 Ranger Lariat too. My old Ranger is the Danger Ranger, the new one is the Power Ranger. That's how the two are identified in our house.
Talk about stupid.... I lifted my rear seat, and unbeknownst to me, the rear passenger-side seatbelt buckle slipped through and went under the seat. Next time someone sat back there, the seatbelt would not buckle at all, it would just pop back out of the buckle. This was of course because it...
Mine did the same thing. The colder it was and the longer it sat, the worse the delay was. Shift into reverse, delay, delay, then go into reverse. It would slam hard too if you were not holding the brakes tight. Took it to the dealer, they confirmed it, and put a whole new tranny in. Never...
My dealer talked that some of his Rangers were Courtesy vehicles. They had a name for the program, although what they actually called it escapes me. It's a Courtesy vehicle for a month or two or until it reaches 2000 miles. They then sell it at a discount. The discount was $2,000 as I...
I put one on and love it. Didn't think I needed one, but it is nice. I got tired of walking to the back with stuff to put in, and having to put it all down so that I could have two hands to lower the tailgate and keep it from slamming down. (I can't STAND it when that happens!!) The damper...
THREAD UPDATE: After 11 days at the dealer, I have my truck back. (YAY!!) The repairs took longer than I wanted, but they are done now. They actually got the new transmission shipped in pretty quick, but I guess there's some special aluminum stretch bolts that hold the tranny on, and you...
THREAD UPDATE: I took my Ranger to the Dealer for the taillight recall, and asked them to look at the transmission. They were able to verify my claim that it is clunking into reverse. They said they had done research and this is a known issue.
They told me that it is possible to fix the...
Rotated my tires last weekend. Didn't worry about resetting TPMS because there's not anything about it or a reset procedure in the owner's manual. Asked my mechanic about it too. He says they self-locate, no need to reset.
Changed my oil myself yesterday @ 5076 miles. FX4, so I pulled the skid plate. To do the oil filter, I pulled the front wheel, took the rubber flap cover off. The oil filter came off by hand. I used Mobil 1 Extended Performance oil and filter.
I also rotated the tires too. At the same...
FX4 was MANDATORY for my Ranger!! I wasn't getting one without it. The sticker looks so cool too! I don't understand people that buy the package, then pull the sticker off because they don't like it. Thanks for the story, cool stuff!!
Seems like it would be easy enough to pull 12V from the bed plug if you have the factory plug that comes with the drop-in bed liner. Seems like the harness would be close still if your truck didn't have it, and you could add it.
