Keep Drop in Liner or get Line-x/Bullet

So my truck came with a drop in liner, it does not have the 12v outlet(I dont think where would it be) so I think they put it in after wasn't on the invoice.

Anyhow is it worth removing that and paying for the spray in if I already have it?

If so I can get Line-x standard for 475 or bullet for 425

Truck lives in the garage and has a tonneu cover I dont think I need to spend the extra for the UV protection.

Having the drop in on my '96 Ranger and the Line-X on my '19 Ranger and the wife's '13 F-150, I would go with the Line-X. Things tend to stay put better without having to strap them down and it has a lifetime warranty. I wouldn't spend for the UV protection since you have a cover.

had drop in old truck didn't like it. went with another option bed mat keeps stuff from sliding around and can take it out to clean. https://www.deezee.com/shop/2019/FORD/RANGER/truck-bed-mats/

Thanks technically I didn’t pay for the drop in so it makes it easier to swallow . Truck was a loaner for a short time so guess they put it in .
Anyone ever do Bullet ?

I took the drop in out of mine and put the LineX in. Much better.

Definitely Line-X if you use the bed for more than groceries.

I had the free drop in as well. Didn't like the cover over the tie downs. Went with Bullet as thats what we have in Raleigh - they used to be Line-X. My Frontier had a factory liner which lasted 12 years. I really dont think that there is a substantial difference between any of the aftermarket spray in major suppliers. I think you will be happy with either.
I love mine - looks 100% better than the drop in.

I have Line-X and then I put a BedRug over that. In my 2005 Ranger had just the BedRug with a topper on the truck.

With winter and summer condensation and over time, small leaks in the seals, the BedRug would hold moisture... it's did not bother the BedRug, but the steel box started to show signs of some rusting under the BedRug (this is 15 years later... great truck).

With both (and this will be my last vehicle) I will not have to worry... ever.

That's what I did. Mine came from the the dealer with a drop in already so I just put in a bed mat to keep things from sliding all around. I've actually used a mat in all my trucks and besides keeping things from sliding around it's an added cushion for your knees. If it didn't come with the liner I was going to get the Line-x.

For me, it's spray-in bedliner all the way.

As others have said, if you want the benefits of some other mat, you can simply toss one on top of the spray-in liner.

The one I ended up getting was a Rhino lining. I agree that I'm not sure there's much difference between the major liner companies.

Have the Line X plus a hard tonneau cover . Love it that way it is the best of both worlds . The not sliding around is important , plus dry .

We had a drop-in liner in our '02 Tacoma and we loved it for the 17 years we owned it.

Our 2019 Ranger has the Ford factory Toughbed sprayed in liner.

Just some observations.....

• Sliding finished lumber against a spray in liner scratches the lumber because of the rough spray in surface. Not true with a drop-in liner.
• If you get something like pine sap on the spray in liner (we live in a pine forest, hauling limbs is a regular thing) it's next to impossible to clean it off. Cleaning stains off a drop-in liner is easy.
• Sweeping out a drop-in liner after hauling a load is a piece of cake compared to a spray in liner.
• For folks that live in a 4-seasons location, another thing I liked about the drop in liner... if you drive in the snow and snow is in the bed, when it melts the liner holds the water and it doesn't leak onto the garage floor. There is no good way to plug the drain holes in the 2019/2020 Ranger bed.
• I do like that I no longer have to fish tie down straps through the liner to get to the bed tie downs now.
• Stuff sliding around in the drop-in liner was never an issue. I always secure whatever load is being hauled.
