So, I am finding lots of unclear, even conflicting info for what TPMS works with the 2019 Rangers.
Is there anybody out there who knows which OEM TPMS fits and works?
What is the model number?
If you have a link to the item, please include that as well.
thanks.

BTW, I am looking to get a second set of wheels/tires for winter use. I would like to get a dedicated set of TPMS for them so all I have to do is switch wheels rather than mounting/remounting tires.

Yeah, I think I connected with this link in another thread. Seems about half the reviewers at that link have had problems and that makes me nervous about trying it. Maybe I'll try it since it ships with Prime which makes returns easy enough ... but then everything has to be removed in order to return it. This is where I flip and flop over what to do.
I guess I would still be curious what item comes with the original wheels.

Happy Friday!

Wanted to offer some assistance regarding the TPMS. TPMS can certainly be frustrating especially with newer vehicles, some of this is due to incorrect or incompatible sensors, some of it is due to TPMS scan tools not having the latest or compatible software to link with the new model year.

In addition to this, it looks like the 2019-2020 Ranger uses a different sensor than the prior years which could cause an issue if someone has not updated their database.

Furthermore and on a more broad scale sometimes vehicle manufacturers do silly things like change sensors mid year so a sensor that works for someones vehicle built in May of 2018 may not work for the same vehicle built in November of 2018. (I don't believe Ford has done this lately but I could be wrong.)

Hopefully this provides a bit of insight to your question.

Have a great weekend!

How did you go about figuring if these would work? There is nothing there to confirm that they should/would.
OEM part is TPMS42
https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/electrical/sensorsdevices/kit-tpms-sensor-7875199-1

I purchased a set from Amazon @ $21 ea and they worked perfectly with my winter tire / wheel setup. No programming required.
https://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-T...=sr_1_2?keywords=tpms42&qid=1581509592&sr=8-2
The price is now up to $48 ea, but a quick look on ebay shows a set of 4 for $59..

I had them installed into my new wheel/tire set and ran with them...no issues since :)

Curiosity bell here! Ring ring ring!

How does the truck know which tire the TPMS sensor is in?

An example is, if I buy 4 of those sensors and put them in all four new tires. How does my truck know that the right is the right, left is left, etc?

Because there is no programming to these, they work like a shortwave radio.

So does the screen on the dash just become confused?

I replaced mine when I installed new wheels. You need the 315Mhz ( HC3Z-1A189-A ) version like these.

And
Got Schrader metal stems (to go with the aluminum winter wheels I got).

Wow, that was a painstaking search for parts.
Let us know how these work out as a combination. And could you get the measurements of the valve stem hole and countersink on your wheel and the size of the valve stem portion that goes into the wheel ? I'd like to get solid valve stems to go with my new wheels when I get them and it's waaay cheaper to buy your own sensors and real valve stems. DT and Fleet Farm want $45 per sensor
Thanks !!!!!!!

I'll certainly let you know if/how they work.
