No crashes or issues so far. Anything specific I can test?
The issue is that USB they made only updated the one package, 381. The 381 and 391 are a paired set. I guess they haven't figured that one out yet. 391 contains all of the data, engines, etc. for voice + TTS. If there's a mismatch then various things can crash unexpectedly or flat out will not work. In this case, anything VR or TTS related are at risk. Nothing intended to work on v3.4 for voice for example will. My crash data is flooded with garbage from modules with wrong software pairings, configurations, etc. The one you'd need is 5U5T-14G391-CK.

So far voice commands and text to speech works as expected. Performed a couple commands changing radio channels and navigating to an address. Also had it read our text messages. No issues so far. What version of 3.4 are you running? Mine is build 19274.

Really You have to install it with a usb drive?
I got the notification today too..

My Colorado I got in and turned it on and it asked if I wanted to update the head unit and it would do it while I drove home from work.

Ford needs to catch up with ford pass and sync 3.

Newer than that. See sig below.

It's likely that a good number of things will work. Anything that hasn't really been touched between versions should still operate the same even with the mismatch, radio for example should be fine. The problem is where there have been changes that you could run into issues (and we're talking 25-30+ builds between what you need and what you likely have). If you're still on a v3.3 voice package, there's quite a bit that has changed since. You're missing bug fixes, introducing new bugs (due to the mismatch) etc. If you parked next to a 20MY v3.4 vehicle, same core apps version (19274), you'd have a different UX. You said you use voice, so one obvious item is all prompting changes wouldn't be reflected on your vehicle. All commands specific to v3.4 will not work. Any functionality added in v3.4, will not work. If you sub to SXM, you'd see a command advertised on screen for pro/college sports games that will not work. If it runs into an issue it can't handle, then the voice session will abruptly end. Thus why you need an updated 391, as will come with the Ford v3.2/3.3 -> v3.4 update when it becomes available. Hopefully that helps it make more sense. :)

Is the full v3.4 upgrade going to become available for MY2019 Rangers?

Or is it going to be 2020 specific?

Full update should be available really soon from ford directly, like within a few days according to sources.
Not so much if you're talking Ford dealer/Owner Portal USB/OTA updates.

Happy to help.

Generally, the official updates are all rolled out worldwide, unless there's something very region specific. Then it might hit that region first, but the item would only apply to that region anyway.

Gosh this is confusing. So 2019 Rangers do NOT get the 3.4? I got the email from them a few days ago, and I followed the steps (logged in, downloaded the package, installed it), but it was only 3.3.19052. And now reading this, I have to either force 3.4 and worry about crashes? Or Not? Or 3.4 is ONLY available for 2020 rangers?

Are all new 2020s being built with 3.4 installed?
