Damn ... I'm 57 , had a Pinto in 81... WV winters and vehicles on ?, my brother from another mother !!!I'm 57 now and the first Ford I ever owned was a '76 (I think) Ford Pinto, it was 1981 and I was 17 then. It was a winter beater back when I had my Z-28 and MA winters were brutal on cars. It got me through the winter then one spring day I was coming out of Bradlees dept store and saw it on fire in the parking lot.
It served it purpose and I still got $50.00 for it from the junk yard. Since then I always had Ford vans and F 150's for work. Now my Ranger will get me through until the next gen Ranger is out and I'm waiting to see what they have for the hybrid Ranger.
I worked for a Ford Dealer during the 1972-1975 time frame and was able to see and drive some interesting cars as a result. In 1974, I recall a '70 Torino 429 SCJ in immaculate condition for a song. We always disconnected the rear two carb barrels on muscle cars until after the sale to prevent, well, you know.... Stock image.I'm 60 first car was a 69 ford torino it had a 428 cj in it, it also was a money pit just like the Ranger, wish I still had it, in mint condition it would sell over $100,000 oh well glad i only paid 1500 for it. and Im still learning how to drive.
That was the best ever front end. And your dad made a wise choice.Hey everybody!
I’m 24 years old and I learned to drive on my Dad’s 2014 Tacoma in highschool. My first vehicle was a 1980 Chevy C30 and I’ve currently got a 2022 Lariat Tremor on order which will be my first Ford!
Oh, do tell us about owning the Skyliner......(stock image)I just turned 74.
1st car I owned was a 59 Ford Skyliner
Learned to drive in a 47 Flat bed truck with compound low.
Ranger is a (fault free so far) 2021 XLT FX4
It was a nice car, especially for a 15 year old in 63 when my Dad gave it to me, he needed more trunk room and didn't like the issues Ford had with the hydraulics that operated the top, too many moving parts. But hay, the High school girls just loved it. I traded it in on a '65 GTO, now I wish I still had it.Oh, do tell us about owning the Skyliner......(stock image)
