I think you will see a first step of eliminating private vehicles happen in big cities, kinda like it is now at the Grand Canyon where you park at a visitor center and then a bus takes you through the park.

The first time I went in the mid 90's you drove your own car wherever you wanted.

When you think about it, most people don't drive their own vehicle in NYC. They take a cab or train into the city.
you should look up what the vehicle tax is in London. Now that is scary, and still allows the uber wealthy to own cars in the city.

I don't see it happening in the USA outside of the major cities. and only those cities that aren't already built around cars, Like DC , and NY, Boston, etc. LA forget about ti. Atlanta? suburban sprawl means cars

World Economic Forum calls to reduce private vehicles by eliminating 'ownership'

World Economic Forum calls to reduce private vehicles by eliminating 'ownership' (msn.com)
In my general understanding governing the laws of supply and demand, there is excess supply of WEF reports, world bank execs, and billionaires in general when compared with actual, real world demand for their projections and plans and insane hoarding of wealth. that's the consensus in my neck of the woods at least, and the value assigned to these bullshit statements is worth less and less with each successive release. bring back the guillotines.

They want to ban suburbian living to fight climate change too. Pack people into urban high rise apartments with public transportation. No need for private cars. it's easy to control who goes where and when they go when you control the mass transit an programing of "ride share public vehicles". California is on it's way with banning single family homes. It's all about control. Private car ownership is freedom. Freedom to come and go as you please as long as you can afford it. The Marxist that have taken over one of the major parties in this country want to restrict and control people as much as possible. They will still live the lavish life with private jets and multiple homes around the world but the little people will be in small apartments taking public transportation and working their @$$ off to survive. We're just too stupid to understand what's good for us.

They want to “reduce critical medals?” The author won’t get a “medal” for his spelling.
No, see, they want to reduce critical medals by having you to send in your high school pins, military decorations, challenge coins etc, so they can melt them down for critical metals.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
California is on it's way with banning single family Zoning Law. (fixed it)
Actually this is not the case, you left out a critical word. California dropped the single family zoning requirement. This means Home Owners can build more than one home on their property, which is the case in many states, in-laws quarters, Grand Parents flat, or purchase a few acres and build a family compound, up to four homes on one piece of private land.

Can't own shit in Detroit, or anywhere else if they get their way.
who wants to own anything in Detroit, let alone live there , although I have several friends that live there including an old college flame that.....well enough said on that.

I laugh a bit when people say the US will never be like Europe but if you look closely at where we (US) is headed, well the gap is closing, except of course for 2nd amendment rights.

Sucks compared to how it used to be.

I will try and find the book, but it was written I think back in the 70’s by a radical eco guy from Cal. I think he was a trained civil engineer and architect and he became anti urban because his analysis showed clearly that the energy consumption heat production, natural resource use, all was far greater on a per capita basis in large dense urban centers than in sub-urban and rural areas.

It may have changed with the advent of Leed certifications and such when building large buildings, but at least back then, cities consumed far more of everything per capita than the less dense counterparts.

Great plan to get poor people off the road so there will be less people and traffic in the way of wealthy people. $6 is just the start.
