I got tired of chasing the correct socket for each filter. Went with a sturdy 3 arm self tightening job that squeezes the filter as you apply pressure to loosen it. Works great for me. Took me a couple of tries to find the best one in this design class. It works on all my cars. It looks like this one on Amazon. The flat feet matter.

This style one always works for me.

They have some cool stuff but it’s mostly sold out:rolleyes:
Luckily they had the filter wrench. Ordered it first thing this morning while I was getting my caffeine fix.

Just received my Motivex mx2374 filter wrench and I have to say it fits the filter perfectly and will not slip on the filters as the generics do. A+++

I saw that fix on an episode of THE RED GREEN SHOW
But this does not address the design issue I noted when using this style vs the Motivx and was actually my main factor in choosing the Motivx and that its designed with a 3/8 Sq drive attachment that engages the drive and has a stop, the (Stamped) design allows for the extension to pass through and the extension hits the filter, thus pushing against it (The Dome) and I found it to be frustrating to use..
So when I began searching for a style that had a better (Drive Connection) I found the Motivx and it just happened to address both issues I found.

1. The design change (30 to 14 Flutes) - You need to have both available - depending on filter installed and the one on hand.

2. The Drive (Engagement) - can be cumbersome and extension hits the filer and also causes it to push off the filer and off the socket
