playing with a couple designs, I am also looking at a couple different chargers, and seeing how it would be to adopt this design to use other chargers.
I am on the fence about the tension design, there are complex tabs that make you push it down to grip the sides of the interior tray.
But I scaled down the original design about 3% (so it can fit on more build plates) and also it still sits on the ledge on of the cubby.
And it stayed in placed when testing slides, still fine. My concern is picking up the phone, and the magsafe strength might pick up the print. I was thinking maybe just run 3M double side tape on the bottom and call it good. Still deciding.

Once I get this to a point that I like, anyone interested in paying shipping and I mail you one, can give me any feedback?

One day I'll get time to build one that uses the new Pixel Snap charger along with a slot to put the Wireless AA into that will keep any lights visible and buttons pressable on it. But I still not had time to finish my GMRS radio mount. Maybe to save a ton of time I should see if OpenSCAD can load STLs to create the code that I could that feed into an LLM agent and then have it merge them into a new OpenSCAD script to output as STL. I have the OE EU wireless charging slot from Ford for my Focus, but, Pixel 10 Pro XL doesn't fit it while in the case. Also, no air flow around the phone in the pocket means that a hour or two into a drive the phone will stop charging for thermals, well at least that was an issue I had with my Pixel 6 Pro, I've not really used it with my Pixel 8 Pro or the current P10PXL, maybe that new battery by-pass so that the charger can directly power the phone and not move the power through the battery first could prevent it from getting as hot as fast.

I extended the arm to more up the hump. And pushed the puck out more, that is pretty close to I think the “good enough to try it” phase.
at this moment I put one piece of 3M double sticky tape right at that slope. Just a little more hold when you pickup from the plate.

Ok, I will pick up more filament (I burned a bunch in R&D) also it was mostly grey.

Also one thing to note, I have been testing with the newest generation of magsafe puck, its type C charging, and has a braided cable. The generation before that is slightly different size. My design can be adapted to match any of these chargers pretty quickly. I have been thinking about doing the best qi2 one I can find. I havent looked too much into them, seemed like the anker ones are good. I am interested in the idea of them being active cooled but will have to see if that changes how I can press fit them in.

Right now, I think this is about as good as you can find for the use cases we are looking at. It already supports Qi2.2 charging upto 25W wireless.

IMO: A couple things...
1. There is no access to the USB ports for Android Auto or Apple CarPlay... I know there are wireless options but just one more gadget to get.
2. I would prefer on of these for the upper tray... few seem to make them for this location. Please take that as a suggestion.

That's it. Thanks.

Yeah, no access to the ports has been on my mind. I personally have had really good luck with their wireless carplay, I havent had to mess with it months, so my use case doesnt have a reason for it. Also I believe that is why the last design was an attempt of a press fit.
I was thinking of three options

- USB toggle switch, they make them in short runs, I could have the button on the 3D pad, and its plugged into the car USB port, and the other end the wireless adapter. But that will only let you basically do a power cycle, not a swap or anything.

- I could also surface mount a couple USB ports to the 3D tray, that plug in out it. That will solve the issue of port access, however that eliminates the clean look.

Also I would strongly suggest against the upper tray, that thing is a heat magnet, and it will cook that phone, when current phones already have issues with thermal management. That spot would be an easy place to test it, set a pad up there, and then sticky it and test it, and use it awhile.
