In my younger days, in the 70's, I'd back in, so if car didn't start, it was easier to pop start it, going forward.
Haven't owned a stick for almost 20 years now. I back in, as I feel it is safer to do so, vs when I leave. I like being able to leave, stress free. After 16+ years of marriage, my wife now joins in to tell me "there's a pull through". No backing needed. Other times, she just doesn't get it.
She never backs in.
