Always interested on the evolution or de-evolution in some cases vehicles take. I'm not the slightest interested in swapping out anytime soon. The only reason I bought this was b/c my son [New Driver] is getting the 2009 Ram Crew, bighorn HEMI I've had for 10 years...not gonna buy the kid a new vehicle [or even a new 'used' vehicle]..You get dad's hand-me-down, 145k very well kept, some rust but other than that everything works as advertised. Sure beats the $500 '76 Chevy Malibu 305 rust bucket I had to buy, insure, fix and gas myself in the 80's. [I lucked out in the 'good' parents dept]..

A few issues if they are listening on the 2020: I've only had it about a month...
better armrest position/length, much like the newer escape.
garage door opener on XLT
brakes a bit goofy on take-up length [travel]
dampened tail gate
Please explain how a lack of a tailgate dampner is an issue?

For me being a contractor I'm in/out of the back of my truck all day long. Having had one on my Tacoma I'm use to just walking by and grabbing the handle and letting it drop. I really think it's funny that they put a damper on the glove box yet nothing on the tailgate. :curse:

The 'issue' is that I would prefer that less careful individuals who in most cases are not truck owners OR are truck owners who treat all their belongings like a hammer not let it slam down...I guess you could refer to that feature as stupid-proofing. For me personally its not an 'issue' just like I dont let the toilet seat slam down no matter whose house I'm in but until I installed soft-close seats on all my crappers it never failed that some fool i know or am related to would let it slam multiple times during a visit.

we all have our triggers.

Has anybody seen this?

2020 Ford Ranger V6, Hybrid, Price, Specs, USA
https://2020pickuptrucks.com/2020-ford-ranger/
I dunno guys. This "2020pickuptrucks.com" site looks like it's crap to me. There's no "about us" and the writing is pretty bad.

Take the article ""2021 Ford Ranger will come completely redesigned" here's an excerpt:

"This redesign is about to bring a lot of novelties, as you may presume"

Seriously - Who writes to an audience of a bunch of truck guys?

To make it worse:
According to some leaked photos, the new Ranger will look quite robust.

Why isn't there a photo or a link to a photo? They're all over the web.

If it's just someone trying to make a Web Site and gather info for people to read, they're doing a poor job at it. I wouldn't trust this source.

good article! V6 ranger in Raptor variant will be too pricey for me to ever consider. I've driven a lot of vehicles before buying this and I'm totally pleased with the performance. My 10 year daily driver was a HEMI Ram Crew, it passed about everything except the gas pump. Now the Ranger is NO HEMI and yes being 10 years older I'm not on the right foot as much as I was then, but hell its plenty spirited, fun to drive, easier to park and I'm loving only filling up [actually topping off] at the end of the week.

I wonder if small things like one up/down windows, cooled seats, and power recline make it for 2020.
That would be nice only the drivers window with one touch up and down is a little irritating.
A bunch of us have added an auto up/down window module that costs like $80 or so, and it gives you that convenience on all 4 windows. There's a big thread on here about it too. RCMustang is the man for hooking it up.

I know, my truck is totaled and now I need a new one...it’s on my short list.

1) You spend $44K on a truck. The damper on the tail gate is a given.
2) The under seat storage on the Lariat Super Crew is worst than a bad joke. Why in the hell would you strap the jack crank rod on top of a tiny, tiny storage box. Put it behind the seat back with the jack and funnel. Increase the storage size, make it flat with lift doors that will make it flat. See the old Tundras.
3) #2 would not be so critical if the rear seats folded down more flat. Try sliding in a suitcase with the seats up!

Honestly I thought the rear seat would be a bigger issue for me, but in 4 months it has been a non issue - I've crammed quite a bit under the seat - it is bigger than it looks I think. One reason the storage is the way it is is because the fuel tank is tucked up inside the frame rails - I'd rather have less storage under the rear seat and have a more protected fuel tank.

It would be nice to have more storage and/or have a 60/40 split, but it really hasn't been an issue at all for me thus far. It kind of surprised me.

Got my x-plan pricing figured out going off this years prices. Got my PIN. Talked to the dealer, they seemed kinda clueless. I had to explain that the 2020's were available to order. He wanted $1000 to place the order. Did anyone else have to do that? They have the same 13 Rangers on their lot that they've had for months. I don't think they really want to take next year's orders with this year's inventory still available. There is another dealer that's fairly local who still have 41 of 44 Rangers since I started looking a few months ago. They only have one 2019 Lariat with the BO package, FX4, and tow package and its in black, which I have no interest in. Oh, and I wanted a lighter interior than ebony. So many trucks, so few choices.

I’d get the FX2 version. Wish they had it in 2019!

Typically a Retail Order will require a cash deposit, since the dealership is able to special order your Ranger outside their normal allocation.
