Very subjective. Some people spend a couple thousand on a sound system and they wouldn't accept anything less than that. As far as the B & O goes, is pretty accurate. I don't listen to Hip Hop or anything with a pulsing 30 Hertz bass. It's not going to Rattle the windows like some people who build their systems do. The stock system is great if all you listen to is 70s and 80s recordings. Modern-day pop recordings have much stronger bass. Personally I don't like bass you can hear two vehicles away. Thumbs up for the B&O in surround mode. It's worth the additional cost if somebody's not building competition audio

I love the B&O Sound System too! I originally ordered a SuperCab and learned that you could not get the B&O with the SuperCab. So I changed the order to the SuperCrew to get the B&O sound system. I love it. I use the stereo much more than that extra foot of bed space. My passengers also like the SuperCrew back seat and of course - the B&O Sound System.

Anyone else have massive rattle issues? If the bass is set to the middle, I can't turn up the music past 10 or 12 without rattle in the front doors. I've had it into ford twice. The first time there was a plastic piece that was lose but rattle was still there. The second time they just said "it sounds fine if you turn down the bass." We just moved and our new local ford dealers says they'll look at it but if nothing is visibly broken they can't do anything about it. This drives me insane to the point where I don't normally even listen to anything.

I found for the best all around sound was to enable Surround mode as many have mentioned but also change adjust your fade to the rear quite a bit so it is a balanced all around sound rather than blasting you in the face from the front speakers only. I found with this setup and some tonal adjustments to suit my listening preference I can crank it up to 11...lol..I mean to the mid 20s to almost max and still sounds crisp and clear with some good low end punch as well listening to Metallica etc.

I'm not an audiophile by any stretch but I do greatly appreciate an audio system. For me One of the first things I would do when getting a new car is rip nearly all the factory audio out and replace it because it sounded abysmal. This is one of the only times where I do not feel like that needs to be done. For a factory installed system, and having compared the B&O 10 speaker system, the non-B&O Ranger sound system, and the Sony system (2018 F150 Platinum) the B&O does have the best overall quality sound. At least to me it does. It has very impressive clarity and full range sound for the most part and the Surround option does noticeably shift how the sound is presented and is one of the few factory systems that I elected to leave it turned on. My only real complaint is it is lacking just a tad of low end punch due to the small woofer. They could have put an 8" sub behind or under the rear seat in the Super Crew version and it would have filled the low end range perfectly. As it is now, the rear woofer just doesn't have enough oomph to fill the low end when the volume is cranked up. This causes it to sound rather a bit tinny, but then nearly all factory systems suffer from this so it's no real surprise that the B&O system has the same problem. Hopefully Crutchfield or someone else will come up with an easy upgrade option for the woofer to fill in the lacking low-end punch but not one that will be overpowering. Just something that really balances the system out. They do have options available now for the rest of the speaker locations so it should just be a matter of time.

Overall the quality of sound from the B&O is such that if your looking for a system that will sound really nice without feeling like you need to upgrade it then it's probably worth the investment.

My previous daily driver was a 2008 Escape Hybrid with their "Audiophile" factory system. The mids and highs are better in the B&O, but that little Escape had SO MUCH low end from the sub in the back... The B&O is ok, but not great. I'd be interested in knowing if there is an easy subwoofer upgrade that can be done without adding an app, cutting factory harnesses, etc. I like things to be a bit bass-heavy....

that's why I was wondering the stock sub size, in my last vehicle I replaced the factory sub with a kicker 6.5 in subwoofer and it made a huge difference. So I imagine that could be easily done if that is the stock sub size.

what size is the sub in the B&O enclosure?
I have not measured but it's painfully small at 6 or less inches. When looking at Crutchfield the speakers they show for behind the rear seat are all 5.25" two way or component type. The 6.75 Kicker CompRT might be an option if I knew for certain the stock speaker size, enclosure depth, and wattage the factory sub received from the factory amp. Ford could have easily squeezed an 8" shallow sub back there if they had just redesigned the enclosure a little bit. With such a small "sub" back there and limited options to keep it as close to stock as possible, I have been tempting myself by looking at alternate options for it. Instead of the sub I'm looking at drop in replacements for the front and rear door 6.5" speakers. Possibly with a set of Kicker CS or Fosgates to see if it helps with the low end bass a little bit.

Has anyone swapped out the B&O speakers in there 19 XLT Ranger for Hertz speakers and sub? If so have you noticed much of a difference? Crisper sound etc.?

Same here, I moved to surround with a mild fade to the rear after reading the account of some members of this forum. The very first time my wife rode with me after the change (without my telling her), she said that the stereo sounded better, crisper, and with more separation, and I agree with that. Since we don't really like a deep, vehicle-shaking bottom such as is needed for much modern pop, rap, or metal music, we find the B&O ideal for our tastes, which lean towards folk, rock, and blues. We keep it anywhere between 9 and 12, depending on the genre and recording quality, when we are in the truck, which is loud enough to hear clearly over the minimal engine noise but still quiet enough to talk when we want to. When we are hanging out on the tailgate or nearby, I take it up to 15-17 with all doors open, and it still sounds good outside the truck as well; it can go louder and still stay crisp, but the neighbors don't always agree with our musical choices. So, yeah, we love the B&O. (By the way, I did end up buying a couple of the Bullfrog Kicker speakers that are sold as accessories by Ford, though I found them on Amazon cheaper. The truck system is so good that I do not take them along when we travel as I had planned to do but rather leave them in the garage for when I am working at odd jobs, washing the truck out front, etc.)

I guess I'm to old, blind, and deaf to really appreciate a great system. But...it's a whole lot better then the old Honda. I listen to the classic vinyl on satellite. Lots of memories.
