Made my wife a hair thingy. She was looking at them online and I asked if she wanted a custom one and what she would like on it. She said a flower and butterfly. 1/2 hour later I gave her this cut from a leftover scrap of leather I had. At least cutting the chopstick down was woodworking. The rest was done with my co2 laser.

Thanks. She has been gray since about 30 ( says I caused it ) and finally let it grow out. I love it longer. Now I have to find some dark grey leather and make some more with different artworks.

Hi Ed,

Yep! I too had gray hair at 30 years old...Premature graying it was called...it is now white so lost all the color... I finally look like the old fart I am...

Nice job on the hair tie!

best,
Phil

Thanks Phil. It runs in her family. When she was younger she hated the grey and kept it short. She would go to the drug store and pick out a different color dye kit each month. It was always a surprise for me when she emerged each month. One thing found out is never tell your wife she looks better as a redhead when it's that time of the month and she emerges from the bathroom with bright red hair :whew: Just say you are perfect no matter what color your hair is.

Very nice. I am woodworker. I will post some pics in the morning. I have done closet organizers, a living room table, a cabinet for my son's 80 gallon aquarium, and many more.

Made this with a walnut gunstock blank I wasn't going to use and some curly maple.

A keepsake box for my step-daughter from curly maple and some quartersawn sycamore, and had a local jewelry shop laser engrave her name on it.

I needed to replace my gable end vents when the local tree rats decided to use them as a chew toy. Made from PVC, SS fasteners, and 1/2"x1/2" SS welded wire mesh. Squirrel / rust / rot proof !!!

And my latest project was a set of bookshelves for my DIL, the bookworm. Made from 18mm BB plywood and solid birch face frame, color matched to their TV stand. And my grand-daughter Rose.

Beautiful work. The corners on that treasure box are going to be my next experiment. Did you do that on table saw or jig.?
