This trail sorta starts and ends at the NFS campground at Courtney Lake. When we passed through it on this day, there was a MI highway patrol, MI DNR enforcement officer and a NFS employee we happened to know there and all near a camp site. At the start of the hike around this trail, we seen a couple of ambulances leaving the area. We later found out a fellow had committed suicide at that site by shooting himself. This would have happened just a few hours before these photos were taken. Sad day at Courtney Lake campground.

Bumped into the river restoration crew coming out.

I had a sweet dog that looked just like yours, never could figure out what breed.

We're thinking she was a Heeler mix of some kind. Certainly had that dingo like look and swagger to her. Not sure what she was mixed with to get the coloring. Foster and vet were thinking a lab, but who knows.

After working on the trails all day, found a tired Wally waiting here. (we were just 100ft away)

Then later napping in the camper

Meeting new friendly people out hiking.

And in camp. (he was told to jump up there)

Dogs do like to be out on the trail.

Charlie was a big hit and hamming it up at all the places we went this weekend.

Getting all the love he can from strangers at the brewery.

Patiently waiting for more people to walk by and love him.

Got tired and hungry after a day of love and attention, so climbed up on the bench to lean against me.

Chin scratches at the campsite the next morning after a nice long restful night of sleep.

My boy Jack, the greatest dog ever, passed in 07

"Cletus" English Bull Terrier and "Bronson" Bagel Hound mix passed in 20 & 19

My new American Bully "Kyuss" is 11 weeks tomorrow, and I friggin LOVE him. He is typical Terrier puppy, 100% energy into everything.

My dogs ride in the back seat, with a hammock before now, but the Ranger is getting a custom couch I mean bench (padded and carpeted).

They also ride in the front of the tandem kayak, or canoe, but that one liked to nap in my seat. He'd stay there for hours, but it was so uncomfortable he'd get up and shift around every 5 minutes, it was hilarious to watch.
