Our pretty girl has had some issues lately too. A lot of tests and overnight stays at the vet have started to rack up. And unfortunately her issue is still undetermined and seems like it's likely a congenital issue with her kidneys. We have an appt with a specialist here at the end of the month. Sucks since she's only a little over 3 years old, and that first year she was a stray on the reservation in South Dakota surviving and even had a litter of pups of her own (she's a rescue). That's a hard first year of life. Luckily she's been coddled and spoiled since then with us.

The look she gives me every time I've had to drop her off at the vet (since we can't go inside with her due to Covid) just tears me up. Hopefully soon we can get an answer and start doing something about it.

Ok, so it might not have been a spider, the dogs back at the vet racking up some massive bills.

Hopefully she pulls through, my kid is already depressed after getting sick and being isolated from everyone, to lose his dog will be awful.
Sorry to hear about your son and his dog. Hope & pray they both recover soon.

This is Thor on the day we got him (my daughter thought he needed a big name since he was so small when he was a puppy):

And this is Thor today - he is about 65 pounds and very stocky - he had a rough start to life - his mom abandoned him and his siblings after they were born (he is a rescue). But he's been pretty spoiled:

Thor is a great dog who loves the snow, loves to ride in my Ranger and loves to go hiking.

A sweet looking girl. Very sad to hear of her problems Matt. Rescues are some of the best animals on this earth. So loving and appreciative. Hope things work out for her and your Family.

Now that definitely looks quite familiar. Between trying to fold clothes and getting dressed, our clothes are covered in fur before we even put them on. haha
There's a sheet on top of the bedspread, we use it to keep the bed clear of hair, we move it over when we fold laundry. These three knuckleheads squeezed in to the one part still covered.

On Christmas day we were finally able (after over a month of trying) to adopt our newest rescue mutt. Her name is Itzy, and she joins KatieBug and Blue in our family. We now have three Terrier mutts...does that constitute a pack, I wonder? Itzy is stick skinny (can feel all her bones, it seems) and is incredibly scruffy, but seems otherwise healthy. She's got a vet visit and a spa day scheduled in her very near future, and we are confident she will begin to shape up soon. Her eating habits have already settled into our routine and she's settling in quite well so far. We consider ourselves very blessed to have her.

We had not anticipated it being so hard to adopt, as our other two were quite easy to do, but were done years ago. We've had to fill out many applications, endured nosy "phone interviews" and one actual home visit where we were pronounced "perfect owners", but weren't allowed to see the dogs we were interested in because that particular rescue administrator had issues with me for calling her out for being hours late bringing the dogs to meet us and not letting us know what was going on. It's been quite an adventure, to be sure.

Here in AZ, there appears to be a shortage of every kind of dog except chihuahuas and Pit Bull mixes, and many of the "rescue organizations" seem to be going to Mexico and importing dogs for adoption here.

Even so, we finally got it done and couldn't be happier to have our newest furbaby. Merry Christmas to us! ❤

Get well soon for buddy !!

We recently had a big bill from something our little guy picked up of the ground. Fortunately he bounced back. Hopefully yours will do the same soon. ?.....?
I forgot to mention, my husky made it through fine, I suspect the recent picture proved that. Some sort of reaction to the meds she was on for the face swelling. Turns out the answer was to not feed her for a day or so, that allowed everything to calm down and she was fine after that.

Hi Folks,

Not my beloved Sir Newton Issac (Newton)...but much like my Boston Terrier...RIP Newton...His loss broke my heart to the point I don't want to grieve that way again for many many years.

Out with us, running on the trails. Some socialization here as well. I should add, our dogs are trained not to jump on people, but Gunner (young boy) is prompting Wally (dog) to jump.
