Do any forum members have this working yet?

I was driving in my buddy's Tesla last week and he had Grok AI setup and it was pretty nice. Very conversant, like another passenger in the car.

So I went online and it said that Google was rolling out Gemini AI to replace Google assistant in Android Auto starting November of last year.

Curious if anyone has it working yet.

My bad, After upgrading my phone I see that Gemini is now the default assistant.

Tell you what, not as good as Grok is in the Tesla.

Hoorah!. After recent Android updates I now have Gemini assistant in Android Auto.
Works great. I highly suggest setting the voice the the woman with the British accent. You have to set this in your phone. Very conversant, just like Grok in the Tesla. The world is actually getting better.

By no means a Luddite, I retired after a career in IT but I disable AI any where it pops up. I have it disabled on my phone right now and if ever forces itself on me, I would go back to a flip phone. I have a good friend that gets into debates with some AI platform and can eventually get it to admit it was wrong. I don't want a computer (or smart thermostat, smart TV, etc) listening to me. Also, when I search, I can see the source of the result, with IA, I can't. AI will pull from anywhere to feed a good sounding answer. It would be very easy for results to be guided in maps for example based sponsor dollars, to send you on a route that benefits them. There are chat and forum pages full of people complaining about that now. Part of the reason I use factory nav over other options. As I mentioned in another topic today, Google gave me an asinine route on a 300 mile drive home. I really only needed it for the first 50 miles.
