Cast here, October 2020 build. I'm okay with the extra weight for the tougher spindle.

2021 with the cast steel spindles, Went with the Icon mid travel 2.5 coilovers, APG Billet UCA"s and APG Billet tie rod ends with the FK bearing Heim joints

Good combination for no binding, on the truck adjustability and offroad capability

Good day Guys
I'm new here from Trinidad & Tobago.
Saw this topic and wondered if anyone will be able to assist.
I own a 2021 Ford Ranger 3.2Diesel XLT (T8), and i managed to hit a curb, which resulted in my right side cast iron spindle :( breaking as pictured below.
I have searched everywhere on the planet i think for the part without any success.
Can any of you guys assist in locating the part?
The part # from FOMOCO is "2321934" .
TIA!

Something I've wondered when I did the leaving kit on my 2020 Ranger. It has Steel Control Arms and all the videos I've watched show Aluminum. Anyone know why they switched? And or the weight difference?

Why they switched? Probably for cost reasons as Steel is usually cheaper than Aluminum. In general though Aluminum can be stronger and lighter. How you ask? Well Aluminum is already lighter wich in turn allows you to add material for strength. Strength wise I'm sure the two are about the same but the Aluminum is most likely lighter by a few LBS

The Global models were always steel, knuckles and control arms, front clamshell diff had cast iron housing too. Only Raptors had aluminum control arms. Not sure about the new model though, I haven't had a chance to have a good look close up.

I wonder what the difference is in unsprung weight and they must use different tapers on the ball joints as the lift kits specify working with aluminum or steel spindles.

If the lift kit does not relpace the upper control arm(wich a good kit shouldnt have too) then there wont be much difference. As for the actual weight difference? Probably just a few pounds.
