Reminds me of the Bear Claw pedals from my BMX days. Your shins were done if your foot ever slipped, and mine did once. That's all it took and I immediately swapped pedals after  .

Have you seen the flats pedals we use in mountain biking today? Flat platform with caphead screws sticking out on both sides and not the heads but the threaded ends. With the right flats shoes your feet will not move or slide off. But if something happens they dig deep!! 😂

My science teacher in grade 8 or so had a fridge in the corner of his classroom filled with frozen frogs and rats for dissecting. The rumor among the students year-after-year was that he snacked on them.
As a teacher myself I would have fed that rumor and run with it!!😂 Oh, the creativity!! Once I had some zit or something on my forehead and you know how tactful teenagers are, I told this girl who asked about it my wife got mad at me and shot me in the forehead with a pellet gun! 😂 She was the definition of gullible!!🤣

I have been shot in the head ( beside my right eye) with a bb rifle at about 3ft distance. It hurt like hell, raised a huge blister that looked like a cigarette burn and took weeks to heal.

I am federally permitted to rescue and transport eagles and other raptors. I transport them to a federally licensed rehabilitation facility. One of their favorite delicacies is rats. The facility in Maryland raises rats for medical testing, reptile food, or otherwise. They have a surplus every month and donate that surplus once a month to nonprofit organizations which is what the rehabilitation facility is. So either I or the owner of the facility go once a month to get some of the free rats. Usually get about four or five big bundles of them. I can just imagine being pulled over and trying to explain huge bundles of frozen rats to the officers.

Joel - Bald Eagles are “Majestic” especially if your lucky enough to see one up close….. Awesome photo and thank you for looking after that one!!!! I can’t imagine what it must feel like to actually hold one.

I drove my Ranger to work, parked in my usual parking space out in the South 40. Then I stopped at Casey's General store and put $40.00 worth of 89 octane in the tank. Last stop of the afternoon was at Braums for a grab and go quarter pound cheese burger with a large order of fries and a large Dr. Pepper. Then I headed for home.

Seen a couple up close and they're impressive. Held an injured pygmy owl, I think it was. Those eyes!!😲 They look directly into your soul!! Amazing!

I can’t help but think the same thing about bald eagles. Every time I get the chance to see one it does something to me emotionally I absolutely love them 😍

That was actually two different eagles. I have rescued probably 24 to date. Close to a dozen owls, several different types of hawks, several osprey, and a few blue herons.
Seeing an eagle is pretty exciting, handling them is most incredible, and getting to free release one after rehabilitation is even better than that.
The top picture is the guy that rehabilitates them. That is his educational eagle, Helena.

Gee, tough post to follow ... incredibly awesome work with those magnificent birds. The Bald Eagle is always awe inspiring. Thanks for all your great work! =)

Okay, on to a more mediocre post ...

Took Kota to the vet to get his lepto booster.

And this might be why I haven't posted in a while. I'd advise folks like @AzScorpion to go no further in this post.
