Had a bit of an adventure yesterday. Portland, OR, received its second highest snowfall on record. Got a call from the missus at 4pm who was stuck in it and had to abandon the old Mazda B Series by the side of the freeway. RWD no good. Saddled up the Ranger and bravely headed off into the eye of the storm on a rescue mission lol. Her phone died but eventually found her. Then it took us 5-6 hours to get home to her mum’s, normally a 25 min trip. Like the end of the world out there. Cars abandoned and stuck everywhere (never buy a Prius lol they were truly lost). And I’ve never seen a truck jackknife before. Luckily it was on the opposite side of the freeway which was sheet ice. Makes you realize how close we are to chaos if Mother Nature decides to have a tantrum. Anyway, God bless the Ranger which got us home safely. It was a true champ. And fair play to the stock Hankooks! Never been so glad to have a 4x4.

We went to the home show at the stadium. Glad we got there right as it opened as the line to get it wrapped around the back. It was senior discount day from 10-12 and they were all lined up waiting for their $2.00 off discounts. lol

That $2 will help as a down payment for eggs. ;)

Prepared for a track day in the rain. Also got a chance to test my new LED lights I installed on the trailer with a brand new 4 pin harness. All is well and are way better than the old incodecent bulb ones and old hacked to death 4 pin harness

Wow, that snow is getting low. All my friends and family in Crestline through Big Bear are getting hammered and the highways are closed.

Stopped at the local Ford dealer with Pepper today. February is almost over and just realized my garage calendar is 2022 version. Last year got 2 there, Ford trucks, and vintage Fords. This year, 2023 they only have 1...new Ford vehicles. The first pic is a beautiful Ranger! 2022 Splash "Snow Edition"...

Did nothing with her which seems no big deal, right? I have driven her 2 times this week, but drove other trucks and cars a lot. They were not bad at all and I liked them.
But I have withdrawal symptoms now ?
I look for my Ranger when it’s not there and all the time something is missing, wrong. It’s always been like where am I there’s my Ranger.
Tomorrow I have to get some relief!

I've always wanted to level my Ranger... started getting a bit of a Carolina squat though!

That didn't last after unloading the dirt I brought home for my garden beds!

It doesn't look like a lot of dirt but that's a skid-steer bucket full! The truck handled it fine but I did notice my headlights shining a bit higher than usual.

Drove back to Mexico today for another dental visit. It's a 360 mile trip and even though it's a super boring drive (no scenery) it was still fun driving the Ranger and it made tome go by fast. Hopefully no more trips back for another 4-5 months while everything heals.

Duke @DukeCanBuildit this is pretty much the boring view for most if the I-8 drive.

Some people have made fun of me for permanently carrying my recovery gear in the back of my truck. Today I had the last laugh as I was able to rescue a 2wd 4Runner that had gotten stuck in the snow (in the Bay Area of all places!).

I tried my recovery boards first but they were dug in too deep and I didn't feel like digging. One good tug with the ARB snatch strap and they were free to go. No problem at all for the Ranger.

My wife was directing traffic so unfortunately we didn't get a good action shot.
