What did you do WITH your Ranger today?

Went to the beach this morning with my wife and in-laws and purposely parked next to this gem. Here in South Florida I haven't seen many of these left in good shape as they either are all rotten'ed out from the salt air or beat up and used for pool cleaning businesses. This one looked well cared for.

Trail ride with some friends on the Bitter Spring Backcountry Byway north of Las Vegas.

That trail looks gorgeous and really chill. Is the whole thing like that? I'm looking for places I can take a stock truck. Cheers!

First chance to really get dirty.

Drove the wifee down to the farm to see her mom......temps warmed up and thawed everything out so was a muddy exit from the farm. Got home and changed the oil/filter.......gave the XLT a wash. Bet I washed 20lbs of mud off her! Vacuumed out the inside. Ready to roll!

Not yet! But I'm thinking that the holidays and days off maybe delaying all of that. So hopefully soon!

Yes, it's about 27 miles and rougher then a forest service road but not too bad. Running west to east all the red rock is in the first half but the views in the second half are also beautiful. I would have felt comfortable in my stock truck and we had a stock F150 xlt fx4 with us that had no issues. I did most of it in 2h, just a few areas I went to 4h and never needed my locker. There's a great write up on birdandhike.com about it.

We did tacos for Christmas here at the house and haven't been to Manuel's since early spring. The lake up at Estrella Mountain Ranch. There's 2 lakes (manmade) there and they both hare about 1 mile each around the walking path. It's just past the interception of Estrella Pkwy/Elliot Rd.

I used to do a lot of mountain bike riding in the Estrella Range above those two lakes. There’s a day use parking area closer to PIR and the trailhead for a competitive mountain bike training loop - it’s about 10 miles long with a couple of other more challenging loops for fun - likely 18 miles altogether. Great place for a quick rip or a couple of slower laps. I’m pretty sure this pic was taken there…

Only two things to worry about in that area; water and diamondbacks. ? ?

Yesterday drove almost 500 miles home from the in-law’s. Anyone have tips for securing tarps better so they don’t flap? When I strapping it down, wife actually suggested we get a tonneau or camper shell ?. With the bed loaded it’s about impossible to get to the tie-down loops sometimes.

Same here, but the gauge shows an AVERAGE speed of 78 mph over 500 miles traveled...
Of course, for me, 500 miles is about two months, but my average speed shows 21 mph. And I exceed that by a good margin every time I drive, so... Ol' Davey @Dave859 either has an expressway outside his driveway, or he's going well over 78 a good bit of the time. (Or he made a 500 mile trip and reset the thingamabob after he got rollin'... LOL)

Hey Dave! That drive was one day on the road coming back from visiting relatives for the holidays. I was running 78 - 80 and didn't get slowed down much with traffic. And I only stopped for gas and to go to the restroom. I do this trip 3 - 4 times per year.
