The day is here! DUMP RUN! =D

And during a hurricane to boot! Well, Hurricane Lee was just a slightly damp and mildly breezy event for us.

I took advantage of Kate's car being at the body shop to let Soupie shelter in place in the garage. No need to get extra acorn dings from this hurricane. =)

Plus no need to let dump stuff get wet and heavier. That Barcalounger* was a good old friend but so far beyond repair with detached springs and a cracked frame. And the lower front Ranger valance is in there along with a 20+ year old printer. Pretty modest load ...

The yard cleanup only yielded two Billy Goat bags worth of stuff, probably should have just put that in yard waste bags for curbside pickup (but they would have gotten wet and that must be extra annoying to the DPW guys picking up wet bags all day long).

*Wikipedia trivia: Barcalo, the country's oldest manufacturer of reclining chairs, is reputed to be the first American company to allow its employees coffee breaks, in 1902. AND Barcalo received a patent for the invention of a bed spring. Who knew? =)

fits with only inches to spare front and back - a garaged Soupie is a happy Soupie!

just like the Beverly Hillbillies, except modern with a handy printer! =p

this could be the start of my lavish Social Influencer lifestyle! All caught on dashcam - the rear view was handy for seeing how much of the grass clippings blew out on the way home, err ... officer, I meant to say to make sure I wasn't doing any illegal dumping! =D

Drove to the urologist with the Ranger back on Tuesday. First time having my partner drive the Ranger but only because I was unable to drive. I don't know what I was more nervous about: my partner driving my truck in a speedy manner or the vasectomy. 😨 Thank goodness for the suspension upgrade...

used the 4g for several bed loads to the dumpster and then a few loads into storage. about half through i felt like the Baby Truck (4g name) was sorta channeling the Soupie Subquark dump run spirit. Same color too... should have taken a picture but i was working solo and didnt wanna stop.

Today I drove from the SF Bay Area to the east side of the Sierras and drove a bunch of easy & rough 4wd roads, ending up at 11k feet on Kavanaugh Ridge, where I was going to camp until it started thunder hailing and I eventually decided to retreat to a lower elevation. The Ranger did great, even when I almost crapped my pants because a deep rut had the truck over at a very distressing angle. Rocks, creeks crossings, you name it, zero drama.

It could have been worse. If you didn’t have your Ranger, you could have been making the trip home on your Bonneville. 😨

Nothing major, went to sLowes to get driveway sealer and the all-important smoked sausages for Cheech. Noticed a full-size wannabe Soupie behind the real Soupie at sLowes.

Then picked up some water.

And then completed the day's errands by teaching Cheech how to drive (with the added bonus of slobber all over the steering wheel! ). =D

Hit 105 mph on an empty stretch of highway on my way home from work. Was still pulling strong but I figured it was going to hit the limiter any second and I was running out of straight road.

Today we (me and the truck) both shed a tear after finding out the Eibach pro truck w/ reservoir rear shocks i ordered 2 weeks ago are on backorder until November. 😭

Guess we'll just have to make due with the regular pro truck sport rears on there now. 🤷‍♂️

Went and replaced the battery in my daughters Elantra which require a trip to Costco. I topped off the gas while I was there of couse.
She complained her car only clicked when trying to start it Tuesday morning. Cried for 5 minutes and tried again and it started. She hadn't driven it for a few days so I told her to see what happens today and we'll go from there. Didn't start again today so she waited, this time without tears, tried again and it started. I checked the voltage when I got there tonight and it was 10.5v. And the thing started! She got about 5 yrs 80k+ miles out the factory battery so I think she was due.
Impressed considering I didn't get 3 yrs or 25k out of the battery in the Ranger and it gives all kinds of warnings at 12v.
