They look great. I have the same wheels for my winter tires.

I also grabbed the center caps for them with my FordPass points.
Yea I was just thinking I need to get the center caps as I walked past it this afternoon

I don't know if this counts or not, because this happened yesterday....but anyways....

Picked up my truck from having a RC 2.5" level kit installed. Looks wayy better IMHO and it dropped the edge of the open tailgate a good couple inches as well.

Please do not paint the valence. I have only respect for people who do hard work in mods, I do too. Yet, ford intended that valence to give contrast to make the truck look wider, and it is a must, as it looks narrow and long. That's just my opinion coming from an EU version which is all body color. Keep it silver, it matches the skid plate so well.
I also like the contrast and thats why I use silver roof racks to match it too.

Got my Shrockworks sliders bolted onto the frame. Easy install, pinchweld clearance looks good. Only annoyances are that they’re no longer packaged as nicely as they used to be, and the backing plates were raw steel that I had to coat myself. Otherwise, I’m happy with them. My 2-year old can now climb up into the truck by herself now!

My first DIY oil change, using FL910S and Q1FS Motorcraft full synthetic 5w30 (got 12 qts for $84 and the MC filters for $4/ea). Put 9143 miles on the oil and the OLM was reading at 8%. The dealer did the last oil change and I was *barely* able to get the filter off by hand. Took a while. On the bright side the wheel really doesn't have to come off, just the four screw clips.

Painted the tailpipe to try and match the Matte Black GoRhino Exhaust tip which has a slight sheen. Preparation: Washed the tailpipe with soap & water, brushed with steel wool, rinsed with clear water then used isopropyl alcohol as the final cleaner. Masked before painting.

Sprayed on 3 coats of Rust-Oleum High Heat Flat Black but it dried into a drab gray (see photo) instead of black which was a terrible looking match with the Matte Black Exhaust tip. Decided to spray over that with 3 coats of Rust-Oleum High Heat Ultra Black semi-gloss. This is a very rich looking color with more sheen than the Exhaust tip but they are a decent match. Anyway, the semi-glass paint should dull after time and hopefully look closer to the Exhaust tip hue.

You realize that painting the pipes black actually slows the exhaust flow down leading to a loss of horse power.
Chrome, on the other hand, "slicks up" the exhaust flow, letting it exit faster, leading to a dramatic horse power gain...

Stainless with burned blue end. That's the High HP combination. :muscle:

True North looked so good after the clay bar and a coat of Meguiar’s Detail Spray, it got me thinking about how great it would look with a fresh coat of paint. I KNOW, RIGHT!?

Brandon, @dondonbabyraptor , you should really pay attention here.

So, I did just that…

Dave @AzScorpion turned me on to this, so I knew it was a tried and true method. First, you need a few supplies. Cheap brush, paint tray, and a wiz roller - tray liner and drop cloth are optional but Dave recommends them for some reason. So, yeah, I used them too.

Use the brush for the initial application - back and forth, up and down criss-cross, it doesn’t matter at this point. Do the entire truck at once, none of this one or two panels at a time crap - it’s a time suck, and you’ll want to get out and show off your handiwork before dark.

For a showroom like finish (this is the most important step), apply the second coat with the wiz roller - don’t be afraid to use LOTS of paint and don’t worry about roller overlap marks - they’ll hardly be visible. Use long strokes with the roller from bumper to windshield, windshield to rear brake light, front headlight to taillight - you get the idea.

Most importantly, don’t use automotive paint - it’s a complete rip-off. Dave swears by Behr Direct to Metal Alkyd, so that’s what I used. Be sure to use DTM Primer as well. Maybe $80 all-in for all the supplies and paint. PPG can suck it.

I’ll post pics later, it’s still a bit tacky to the touch.

Good luck Brandon!
I didn't see where you mentioned using the flat black as first coat base, followed by the ultra flat white as the second...good call on the roller though, it'll even out the brush strokes to make the finish look like WWII anti-mine zimmerit .

Great write up! :like:

I chose the black to reduce the horsepower so I won't be tempted to wind up the turbo charger when a Taco challenges me... o_O

Looks good, yet something does not add-up in the above pic line-up. Different tyres ;).
Good observation! The last 3 pics were taken previously when I had the GoRhino Tip installed before painting the tailpipe (pic 2 shows the inner tailpipe original silver and unpainted) and before the wheel and tire upgrade :)

Forgive me if this was covered somewhere above this post, but what roof rack is that? I want that style roof rack but I can't seem to find any that aren't stick on and they wont handle any weight.
