I have a cast iron griddle insert for making smash burgers on my BBQ. I recently started using it to pan sear my filets on the grill. Love it!

We have a reversible cast iron grill/griddle insert on our new gas stove but I haven't tried it yet. Annie uses it every day to heat up her tortillas on the smooth side and there's a grill side where you can sear and grill on.

Nice new range! The reversible griddle I have is very similar.

I finally started using the flat griddle section of my range. So far, mostly for breakfast and some grilled cheese sandwiches at lunchtime. I can’t bring myself to use it to pan sear a steak or anything that would splatter. It has a stainless steel backsplash and it’s tough enough to keep clean as it is.

Speaking of backsplashes, when does yours get installed? Did you pick a tile yet? You could keep the current design and just mud over it whenever it gets splatters.

The range has all sorts of settings.... air fry, air roast, air bake, grill mode, & slow cook. I guess you can use the griddle inside the oven on grill mode and it's "supposed" to be like cooking out on the grill. Yeah I wouldn't want to clean the mess after using it on the stove top either. lol

We're still searching for a backsplash. Phil gave me a name of a tile store in Tucson that we'll try and stop at this weekend. For now I just painted it to get rid of that red that was all through the kitchen/dining area. :puke:
