I have not removed my 93 tune yet, but I have been driving a lot less. Thank God I have a take home patrol car. We can use it for regular errands as long as its before or after shift. So I've been grocery shopping and what not when I go off duty.

My Ranger did finally hit 10,000 miles after 2 years though. lol

Is there a octane booster out there that doesn’t have metal and meets Ford requirements?

I'm betting its cheaper to just buy the higher octane fuel.

Just buying the higher octane fuel would be the much better option either way.

Only a few dollars difference between pumping high test or regular and an additive when it’s all said and done.

Myself, switched to regular last tank. Can’t see paying 5+ bucks a gallon now for around town driving. Hang on! It’s still going up too. Almost as high as Hunter now…

For me around here it's about 10 bucks more for premium an $4.50-5 for plus. Plus is usually around 30 cents a gallon more an premium is 60-70 cents more a gallon.

Only filling up like once a month, I'll still put the good stuff in. Especially since I'll likely be towing or hauling loads of whatever when I am driving it. Just ran across a place where we go boating that has ethanol free gas and may even fill up on that if it isn't too much more. The mileage really jumps without corn in the tank.

I did the math last night when I filled up and here's what I learned:
  • 87 is $4.49
  • 89 is $4.79
  • 91 is $5.09

This means that a tank if 91 is $10.80 more per tank (if I need a full 18 gallons) and a tank of 87 is $5.40.

I don't know if this means I need to drop down from premium cause $10 bucks a tank isn't that bad, but $5.09/gallon hurts.
