Oh it's a huge tourist trap for sure. lol It was an interesting experience but they play it up to be this "phenomenon" that two college friends happened to discover while walking through the area. lol

I think there's several of these across the country. When we got back I had to look it up online and I found this article about it. They're right that they build everything on an angle and most of it is an optical illusion. But there is a "weird" felling you get once inside these.

That “weird feeling” is your BS detector on overdrive ?

We had one near us we went to as kids. Was fun to try and figure it out as a kid. https://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/11582

Dave this looks an awful lot like the Oregon Vortex. We went there quite a few years ago just to see what it was about. While I agree with you it was weird, I did kind of feel off while we were in "the vortex", so I can't say there isn't something weird about the place. I thought it was interesting, even if it was a tourist trap.

I think we went there the summer we went to Crater Lake - now THAT is place that you have to see to understand - WOW. We need to go back..... I always thought it would be cool to go there in the winter and do a ski/snowshoe - they get LOTS of snow every winter but keep the road to the lodge plowed all year now.
Crater Lake is awesome. I rode my motorcycle there 6 years ago and has a fantastic time. it's so beautiful there at the lake and on the lake. You need to take one of the boat tours on the lake. WOW it's awesome. Get up early and drive around the lake without a million people. Stop at all the lookout spots. WOW.

Dave you are lucky you were not at the Colorado Rockies baseball game last night. Major hail storm during the game. They had a hail delay for 2 hours. Crazy stuff. It looked like it snowed 4 inches but it was hail.

We had a little hail with the storms yesterday in those videos. Luckily it was only pea size and it didn't last long and as far as I can see there was no damage.

I was getting gas in Custer, SD this morning and was talking to an older guy in a Honda Ridgeline. He was asking me if I liked my Ranger and then told me his Ridgeline got caught in a nasty hail storm a week ago. I walked over to look at it and the windshield was shattered (I have no idea how he can drive it) and the hood, fenders and roof look like someone took a hammer to them.o_O He said there was just over $16,000 worth of damage to it and he now wants to get rid of and and maybe buy a Ranger.

We just got into Colorado City about an hour ago. We can't wait to get over to Pagosa Springs tomorrow and check out the area. Of course there was some rain along the way, it seems like the whole upper west has done nothing but rain lately! Annie got this storm cloud off to the west and luckily it was moving away from us. :whew:

Coming out of South Dakota and into Wyoming it's really a nice drive. It has some really open farmland and a lot of long rolling hills where you can get some pretty good mpg for a while. I wish this road was like this all the way to CO as I could've made it on 1 tank averaging this.

Not to bad for the first 38 miles. lol

The roads here just gone on forever.

You really could lean far forward or backwards and not fall over inside these two buildings. The kids were having a lot of fun with it and you can see the one boy standing in the corner with his hands up and leaning out and not falling. ?

She tried to tell up the stairs were perfectly level. o_O:rolleyes:

I'm sure if he kept leaning forward he'd have fallen on his face.

This ball is just hanging on an angle like this and not swinging. You could swing it but it'll return to hang just like this. Again it's definitely magnetized.

IMG_0631.jpg

You really could lean farther forward than normal but the farther I leaned you would eventually lose your balance. I was waiting for her to fall over. lol

We had one of those near our house in Oregon in Rogue River.
