After that I went exploring down a couple different FS roads just to get MP2 off road a little. There were a few hills and rocky spots but nothing even remotely challenging. It was good to see how smooth the Fox suspension was over the washboards and bumps.

On the way back we ran into (luckily not literally) these guys!

They had them on the menu at the Hill City Cafe. We ate there Saturday night and I asked Annie if she'd wanted to get them, she had no idea what they were. I told her they were a western version of a seafood platter. The waitress was standing there listening to all this trying not to bust out laughing. ? She was almost ready to try them and I couldn't keep a straight face anymore and told her what they were. Needless to say she'll never try anything I recommend again.

We went to Custer State Park today. We did this last year but there's always so many great sights to see along with the animals roaming wild. Going through Needles Hwy the formations are amazing and a definite sight to see.

This is the first area you'll come to with the Needles Eye. There's a very small area to park and we got here early enough to be the only ones there for a short time.

There's that jackass with that white Ranger messing up my pictures again! ?

As you round the corner there's the Needles Eye tunnel which is very narrow and only 1 vehicle can go through at a time.

That is unless someone else is in there before you.

I was standing on the left against the rock wall and all of a sudden he jumped up onto a small shelf. This was a good 8'-10' small ledge which was amazing how agile they are to do this.

Then once the truck passed he jumped down and walked back to the rock and started licking it again. They say they like the Salt in the rocks so they'll come down and lick them. lol

After passing through the tunnel I spotted a family of Mountain Goats walking down the hill. They say the earlier you go the better the chance you'll see a lot of wildlife coming down to feed.

Now you're going through the narrow parts of Needles Hwy and all you see are these formations. It's so hard to drive and look and take pics but there are several pullouts along the way.

After doing Needles Hwy you can continue on and do the Wildlife Loop. Here you'll see Bison, Prairie Dogs and Donkeys but unfortunately today there were no donkeys around.

It's to big a field to capture all of them but I'd guess there's around 150 Bison all throughout this field. There were a lot more babies this year than last too.

If you listen closely you can hear them snorting. Annie says that's what I sound like when I'm hungry.
