My understanding is that it is not adapting to your style of driving but it is adapting to manufacturing tolerances. I believe that should all be done within 500 miles. It would need to be re-done if you disconnect the battery, but otherwise it does not take that long. If you are still getting rough shifts after 1100 miles, I think you should take it in. I've got over 11k on my truck and the only rough shifts I have are when it is below about 35 and it is the first shift of the day. All the other shifts are very smooth, and it seems like that is the experience of most people. It's adapting to your style of driving. It will be smoother over time. Sometimes when you change your style it can get clunky, but overall it will be smooth.

I thought it was sensing how you drove as to where to make shift points (on average) in relation to the throttle body position. I know computers can do amazing things. I would think it would be related to RPM's also.
