Corporate drone. Dilbert's world is alive & well.
Oh, yes it is. Even my Lariat which is supposed to have a bit more "sound proofing" is "noisy"...but again, the amount of noise and what is "noisy" is relative to each of us. You younger owners are probably affected more than us old farts.
Yep. Doesn't bother me. Well, I mean I wish it sounded like this:

But honestly this does seems to get the job done:

Not much difference driving really. Well, except when flooring the first one you feel like you are hammering down the back straight. Flooring the second.... ummm..... hemming a skirt maybe?

Yeah, but you're hemming it really quickly.

Yeah I believe you described it pretty accurately. Is it normal to clearly hear it fairly loudly in the cabin though? Anything I can do to prevent the sound from coming into the cabin?

The engines in these trucks are noisy - it’s just the way things are. It’s also a mid-level truck (Lariat trim or not), so it doesn’t have as much sound deadening and insulation as you would likely find in a sedan or SUV.

You could add some Kilmat to the doors and floor and it might help - the engine cover does scrub a small amount but after the folks on this forum convince you to get a bed rack, roof top tent, light bar, and ditch lights, all the whistling from the add-ons will drown out the noise from the Singer EcoBoost 2.3L.

One thing to remember is that turbo charged engines pistons are “loosely “ fitted due to the heat buildup while in turbo mode where the excess heat will cause the pistons to expand. Normal.. IMHO is also why some have fuel in the oil, run hard before a good warm up..

Ooh
I think I'd have to change my undies and take a shower if I found that guy in my engine bay...

I rolled up on a pickup sitting in the middle of the road in a curve, asked the driver what was up and he said he was driving his rarely used farm truck into town to buy grain and all of a sudden he felt something slide across both thighs (wearing shorts) he looked down to see half of a large snake hanging under his steering column so he panic stopped and jumped out. I looked up there and saw a VERY LARGE black rat snake hanging there all wrapped around wires and stuff. It didn't wanna come out so I got the truck started and we stuck it in a grassy lane. He was going to leave it a while to see if it came out otherwise he'd be back with a trailer later, " I ain't drivin that until that damned snakes gone!"
