Very dissapointing

Pretty sure I’m having transmission failure. I could be wrong but I doubt it. I would like to tear it apart and fix it myself, could’ve had it done already but I’m going to let them do it under warranty I reckon. Couple more weeks left before the dealer will take a look at it. I’ve grown to really like this truck off road. It’s quickly turning into my favorite truck but I’m very disappointed with how many problems it has. It is literally falling apart mechanically and electronically. It’s almost embarrassing to drive through town with how many noises it’s making. I had high hopes for this truck but believe I’ll be getting rid of it soon. Didn’t expect to be this bummed out about it.

This is the first automatic I’ve had in 5 years. I don’t like it. For these exact reasons.

Metal shavings in the fluid? Credit to you digging that deep, as difficult as it is to get at the dipstick.

yeah it was a pain no doubt. Even trying to get the danged oil filter out puts me in a bad mood. One day someone will put an oil filter where a man can fit his hands in there to get it.

Also, I could be wrong, but doubtful you can successfully rebuild a 10r80. It ain't your daddy's th400.

Look at it this way, you’re under warranty and no matter what they decide to do you’ll be covered and probably get an extended warranty put on top of the one you have now. Should easily hit that 100K mark!

I actually watched that a few weeks ago or one similar. It does look like a good bit of head scratching involved but even though I’m not very smart I have been known to get lucky every once in a while.

yeah, I’ll probably make one more post about it and see if that will help. Nothing makes a problem better than a little bit of complaining.

The diesel with the 6 speed auto is great. No issues.
