This remains one of the biggest first world problems I've seen on the site. A USB A->C cable has been plugged into my truck since the first day it came home.

Can it Carplay through this conversion?

I would never own an apple device, so ?‍. Works fine with android auto. I also use like a 6 inch cable to minimize voltage drop and maximize reliability. It's currently plugged into an aawireless device and hidden under a wireless charger.

Did anyone ever find a drop in replacement? I need to swap my 2021 usb ports out as a particular magsafe like cable I want is only available with usbc on both ends. I don't care about the charge rates, PD or any of that, just need the physical connector changed

You can get a USB-A to USB-C converter and plug the cable in with that. I've done that to use my Google USB-C cables.

It turns out the new USB C unit is compatible with our vehicles, cannot verify if some car play works but Android auto does. However there's two models, a short one and a long one, the longer one is the one that fits.

As far as finding a link to it, just google search for HC3T-14F014-A or HC3Z-19A387-B look for the USB C model, and scroll around until you find a price you like.

Since 2020 Super Duty’s have a similar looking plug module but have USB-C on them I was very disappointed when I received my 2020 Ranger and saw the old USB ports.

Hoping someone can find the Ford P/N for the USB-C terminal and see if it’s a simple plug and play upgrade!

I have a short USB extension cable plugged into the port located in the console storage tray because it is slanted and difficult to get Flash Drives in and out. Use it for my music stick and also for doing SYNC 3 updates. Never thought about a hub but it might be a good idea to get one with a least two ports on it for the above uses.
