Our 2021 4x2 has cast iron spindles, so I'm leaning towards the Camburg upper control arms...

The aluminum to cast switch caught me off guard. I switched to the aluminum spindles for my Icon stage 4 kit. It wasn't bad. I had to very slightly open up the top of the spindle where the outer steering tie rod connects. This was because it was thicker overall. I used a 31/64 bit.
Was that it for the swap? I found the pn for the knuckles from ford (supposedly aluminum). Besides the knuckle itself, the only other thing you had to modify was enlarging the connection point for the steering tie? I'm talking to my shop about doing the same -- the lack of balljoint UCA options sucks...and I don't have high hopes any will be made for the steel knuckles. thx!

I don't see anyone else getting into making upper control arms for steel knuckles.
I talked to the folks at Element Hard Parts and they did not see a big market for it right now.
I ended up ordering Camburg tubular control arms and there is two week wait right now.

Icon will be releasing their tubular control arms for the steel knuckles. I will have more information on them soon.

I just noticed Rough Country offers their 6" lift for cast iron knuckles - I don't know if this is a new change or I'm missing something. Oddly, the 3.5" lift is only available for aluminum.

Thru November last year they were aluminum. Everything from that point on will be steel now. So in time you will see more offerings for steel than aluminum I would think.

The Australian (global) Ranger has always used the cast iron knuckles, perhaps our upper wishbones would fit?

I’ll be installing the total chaos upper control arms on my 2021 ranger with cast iron spindles this week.
