Turbo upgrade

So there’s a turbo for sale locally that was meant for an explorer. The guy says he bought it but never ended up using it. He’s asking $150. Should I buy it?? Will the explorers mate right up to our engines??

They are an aftermarket turbo rebuilder. Used to be called Turbo Supply out of Joplin ,Mo. Looks like they supply to big box automotive parts houses now ( Napa, Auto Zone, etc). They are stock turbo’s, no performance upgrades.
Used to deal with Turbo Supply before retirement. Their stuff was hit or miss. Can’t speak to what their quality is like now.

Would you buy one for $150 if it looks like it just came out of the box? Or should I pass on it? I’m new to turbos so I have very little specific knowledge but have a decent amount of common sense most days

It’s a little cheap. Like by a thousand dollars cheap!
