I picked up my ‘21 Ranger a few months ago with 18k miles. From day one it had a low speed (under 30mph) shudder, almost like driving over a rumble strip. After reading the incredible volume of transmission related threads and how replacing the EGR valve seems fix everything, I decided to have my local Ford dealer take a look. They hooked it up to a data recorder, drove it for 20ish miles and informed me everything was in spec. Not thrilled with this response, I went to a different Ford dealer who confirmed they felt the shudder and that TSB 23-2251 needed to be performed.

I can’t find the TSB online, but here’s the parts that were replaced:
LB3Z4R602E (rear drive shaft) x1
W714780S439 Bolt and Washed Asy x1
W716344S437 Bolt x 4
W717938S439 Bolt x 4
E8UZ4N282A Plug Magnetic Type x 1
XY80W90QL oil rear axle x 1
MB3Z4851L Flange x 1

Thankfully this was all under warranty. And, knock on wood, the rumble is gone! So, for those who are having similar issues, maybe this (new?) TSB will help.

Those parts above are all the driveshaft related items (you probably know that). I'd be curious to see that TSB as in the past, the TSB for this has been adjusting the pinion angles via shims. Many here with the bad shudder have replaced the stock two piece driveshaft with an aftermarket one piece driveshaft to resolve the shudder.

I am very surprised you had all that replaced. Usually most dealers are like the first one you visited, stating it is within spec.

Thanks for the info, I've been struggling with this for a year. We joke every time my buddy is in my truck that it's "normal" according to the Dealer. Such a pain in stop and go traffic, horrible around 1.5K RPM.

Got this done about a 10 days ago on my 4x4 Ranger. Mine had the shudder since i bought it used (18k miles) but took me a while to get to. It was stock when i got it and i added a 1.5" level upfront and 1" rear shackles. Brought it to the dealer and the tech quickly acknowledged the shudder and this TSB that I mentioned. They replaced the entire driveshaft and....I'm still getting the shudder unfortunately.

EDIT: actually I see a post of a 22’ Tremor with similar issue as mine at around the same speed.

I’m probably wrong, but don’t Tremors have a single piece drive shaft? If so - the TSB did *not* upgrade the driveshaft (in my instance) to a single piece from a two piece.

But I’ve since traded in the Ranger because of this and other issues and therefore don’t care, so good luck! ?

No, Tremors had 2 piece drive shaft also. Just a different connection at rear differential.

Glad it helped you! I'd take the repair paperwork to the 1st dealers service manager and show him so he knows which tech needs retrained.
