Was able to pull code P2112 “throttle body plate is stuck closed” I’m guessing it probably got frozen?
Possible. Just wonder how enough moisture got in their for it to freeze. Are you able to take the intake off and look at the throttle plate? Phone a friend who can?

after i had a lil crash in my ranger it displayed all the warnings and kicked into limp mode also. i got it home like that and let it sit over night etc. the next day it started like normal and ran fine except for bent up rear bumper and scratches all was normal. it seems like anything happening the computer is not cool with sorta flip it out and it just goes full retard, gives all the warnings and goes into limp mode.

Throttle body was able to free itself started it up and reeved a little higher than what i was comfortable with, truck is not running rough anymore but shift points were really off on the drive home. Cleared all the Christmas lights. Gotta do the Throttle body re-lean. Does anyone use/recommend an intake system cleaner that’s safe for the 2.3L? Thank you all for your help, I appreciate it very much.

Everybody knows you don’t do that.

Last time I saw a sticky throttle plate was on a high-mileage Taurus. Throttle body cleaner cured that.

Here is the Pinpoint Test for it, if resetting does not fix it
Plus clean the throttle plate with some carb cleaner & pull and reseat the connector and if you have some spray some elec cleaner on the connector / maf cleaner will work also
Never use carb cleaner on a throttle body. Most throttle bodies have a coating on them thst prevents sticking and carbon build up. Use throttle body cleaner.

Had a limp situation once, cleared by dealer and has not returned. Later talked to a Ford engineer who noted in today's vehicles there is so much data traveling over the wiring - and its all micro current, it doesn't take much to cause all manner of strange things. His advice was to clear the code(s) and see if they come back. If they, then see the dealer. This is particularly true if the code(s) appear to be random with no recognizable reason for their appearance.

I purchased a Bluedriver code reader. It's small and easily carried. Load their ap to your phone and it wirelessly connects. Lots of good features and I've used it to erase codes for others but have never had another issue with codes on my Ranger. Absence of a code reader, I'd recommend disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes or so to allow all the capacitors to discharge, then reconnect.

Good advice, the truck really is a big computer, so the first(and cheapest)thing to try is always unplug it and plug it back in.

The ol' IT advice of "is it plugged in, have you restarted it and have you unplugged it and plugged it back in", holds true.

My truck has done some weird stuff that it never repeated. Mostly with SYNC but some weird in other areas. A long as it fires up and hauls ass I'll deal with it's many quirks. I like to think it gives it some personality.
