Dropped the wife’s truck off at the dealership yesterday to have the transmission checked out. After driving it a couple weeks ago, I noticed a harsh downshift from 4 to 3.
Luckily I called right away and got it scheduled for service, her warranty expires at the end of the month. Tech at the dealership said it’ll most likely need a rebuild based on his experience with rangers. He has one too, same year, and his had the same symptoms. Nice thing is it’ll have the updated parts so hopefully it won’t have any issues in the future after it’s rebuilt.
They should be calling today or tomorrow to let us know what’s going on. Only downside is she’ll be without a vehicle for however long repairs take. We were told that ford will cover a rental vehicle for 10 days so hopefully they can get the work done sooner. Either way, I’m not paying anything out of pocket so I have zero complaints lol
